Lightbox styling options

Hey guys,
I’m putting together a photography portfolio and I really like the masonry gallery setup, but I’m wondering how I can customize the lightbox appearance. When an image is enlarged I’d like to have it displayed a little differently, but without installing a lightbox pluggin if possible.
Is there some way to change these lightbox settings (with css or other)?
– the background color/opacity
– disabling the caption
– the color of the right/left arrows (and hover color)
– the color of the image counter text
