List all portfolio posts on one page/image question

Hi, was hoping there was a simple solution for listing all portfolio pages on one page. Much like how they are displayed on the home page. I would like to display a ‘featured image’ and then have that be a clickable link to the full portfolio. Basically I would like to feature the latest 6 portfolio on the home page, and then on a portfolio page list all existing portfolios’

Does that make any sense?

Also have looked through your forums, is there a wordpress plug in that you would recommend for indexing images? I am going to be image heavy an going in to catagorize/tag each image is a bit of a nightmare. would like to be able to select a bunch and then categorize them. Any recommendations?
