Logo resizing and slow site rendering

Hi
I’ve made this site for a danish commercial painting company using Virtue theme:
I’m a bit frustrated because I can’t figure out why the logo scales down when I minimize the browser window.
The size of the logo should not change, when resizing the browser window. The position of the logo should also stay unchanged and not move.
I also wonder, why the site renders so slowly. Is it due to the size of the slider images are too big.
I would appreciate your feedback.
