menu color set up

I’ve been going back and forth trying to get these straight.
In menu Settings I set the Secondary Hover and active font color to yellow.
The hover font children of the menu show yellow and the active secondary menu is yellow.
But the hover for the secondary menu font seems to be coming from Basic Styling – Primary Color (default highlight color).
Am I missing something or maybe something is getting written over.
