Move a widget next to the page slider?

Hi,
I’ve got a website I am curently putting together and it’s coming together really well.
I have a flexi-slider at the top of the page (under the logo bar) and I’ve got it floating to the left.
I’d really like to move a widget up to the open space on the right hand side. Essentially turning the flexi-slider row into a 2-column.
Anyway this can be done? I’m quite happy to hardcode if neccessary.
