Move slider to left and side bar to right on home

Hello,
I am looking to create an above the fold that looks similar in layout blocks to this site – *Login to see link
So basically is there any way I can shift the slider on the home page to the right and then get the side bar to move up to be in line with it? Alternatively shift the slider to the right an be able to add in static image blocks on the right hand side?
