No remove item function in shop’s basket/cart when using mobiles

Using a PC/laptop, when a customer wants to remove an item they have previously added to the shops basket they can see an image of the item, and to the left of it an X, which they can use to remove the unwanted item. However on mobile phones no product image or removal function is visible in the basket – customers cannot amend the items in the basket. Consequently, unable to remove unwanted items, they do not progress with a purchase.

I’ve seen in woocomerce forums that this is a CSS issue, as a result of Themes hiding the item remove function on mobile device screen sizes – is this correct?
How can I change this to enable customers to see the removal function using a mobile device, and delete unwanted items from their basket?

The only way I have found to remove an item from the basket using a mobile, is to quit the mobile’s browser completely – via the browser menu, which clears the basket and enable the buying process to begin afresh if you go back to my site!
