Orders Coming Through as 'Cancelled'

Hi,
Really hope someone can help.
The last 7 orders that have been received on our site are appearing as ‘cancelled’. However 2 of these orders had been paid for. We first became aware of this when a customer called to say they hadn’t received any email confirmation of their order. I looked in our order management program and couldn’t find their order. I checked PayPal and could see they had indeed paid. This happened again a few days ago.
Basically it seems every order now is just showing as ‘Cancelled’. What’s going on?
