Padding between lines and elements

Good afternoon. I have 2 problems, which I can´t fix.
If I chose image menue element from the widget and add it to a line, there is no padding between them. It worked well on other websites for me. I also cannot reduce the padding between two lines.
How can I make a line full width, I mean real full width, so that the background color of the line covers the whole visual background. Please have a look at that picture:
