Portfolio grid page/template issues

I’m having some trouble with my pages using the portfolio grid template.
First, I’d like to adjust the padding at the top so that there’s less white space between the menu and the images. I’d also like to remove the line above the images.
Second, the image grid isn’t totally lining up. Here’s an example:
