Portfolio Pages Not Found

Hi,
My name is Virginia.
I created several portfolio pages and the featured images for the pages display. but when I click the thumbnails to go to the pages I get a “file not found error.” If I open any of the portfolio pages to edit them and click on the “view page” link I also get a 404 error.
I made a new page, but I still get a 404 error when I try to view the page. The Portfolio does not have a parent page or any child pages. This problem is present for several months.
Any suggestions?
