Hi, I am very new to WordPress. I started this website about 5 months ago and added a lot of media files with tabs and description in various pages, this website is for a Furniture store. 1st of all I don’t know if I’ve been doing it right, lol.. I have been making pages for every product we carry, is this the way to do it, or should I be doing posts instead? Also, my website disappeared a few weeks ago due to a WordPress Update. The free version theme wasn’t updated and so upgraded to the premium theme instead to make it work again, but NOW there’s another update for the theme and it says if I update it will erase all of my customization. I don’t know what to do? Can someone please help me figure it out? I don’t want to be afraid my website is going to disappear every time there’s an update.I recently heard about Child themes, will that be necessary? If so, is there an easier way to do it, and how do i transfer all the work I’ve so i wont lose any of it?
