Problem with Image Carousel in Portfolio (Gallery) with Small Images

Note that this gallery:
is an exact duplicate of this gallery:
…except the first one has an image with an image size of 1170×439, where as the second gallery uses an image with a size of 1200×450. (In my experimenting, it’s seems like anything under 450 in height doesn’t show properly. (It works fine with Flex Slider and Image List, but not the Carousel Slider nor Carousel Image within a portfolio. It seems to be specific to images with short heights.)
Is this a bug? How can I get this working properly? (Please help. This is really weird.)
