problems with membership plug ins; ultimate member, wp-member

Hello and Happy Turkey week!
Website built a year ago using ultimate member and it worked fine. Website never launched, client just now re-engaging with project and I’m getting “too many directs” message. Tested plug ins and it’s the ultimate member plug in. I increased the php and it’s still not working.
So then I installed wp-members; also not working. Message is “Not Found The requested URL was not found on this server.”
Do you have any ideas as to what the problem is?
