Problems with "Read More" when using <!–more–> tag

When I use tag “<!–more–>” to break the excerpt in a blog post,
1. In recent blog posts, the “…” does not show, only “Read More”.
2. In blog listing pages, “… Read More” does not show at all.
Ones that I don’t insert “<!–more–>”, it shows “… Read More” fine.
In which files can I fix this?
