Product Short description read more

Hi,
i’m having feedback from clients that on the Shop Loop the read more tag does not appear on the short description. They wonder if there is more content for the article or not. I know the Title and Picture links to the Single Page, but for some this is not so obvious.
Also not all products use the short description, and then the read more tag from the “normal description” is shown, resulting in products with and others without the tag.
Short: how can i add a read more tag to the product short description? Don’t need to limit the excerpt, just need a way to insert it automatically after the content so the shop manager doesn’t need to insert links manually.
