refresh category term filter display

Hi team

I have a custom post type (Recipes) that I have imported hundreds of posts to (using WP All Import). There are multiple categories and on the Recipes (e.g. lunch, dinner etc) and I want to show the category filter box on the Recipe front end. However, while the filter category boxes show (e.g. e.g. lunch, dinner etc) when you click on them, the filter does not show the posts.

I am guessing the posts are not being “seen” by the filter for some reason. Is there a way to “refresh” what the filter sees?
