Remove Avatar from Author Box & Change Image Caption Aligment and Size

There are 2 things I’d really appreciate help with:

– I’d like to remove the image/avatar from the author box, is there an easy way to do this?

– I’ve also noticed that when images are right-aligned the caption is left-aligned and it looks bad. Is there a way to center all image captions? And also make them smaller?

I tried this, but it didn’t work:
