Repeater block with CMB2 field?

Is it possible to use CMB2 as the back-end for the repeater block? If so, please help me to understand what type of CMB2 field I need and how to help the repeater block to render the return.
In my current tests, the Repeater block shows the fields to select, but it never renders anything. It instead just shows (on the back-end) a spinning circle as if it should be loading something.
