Revolution Slider Text Options

Greetings all.
I’m still a newbie, but I have read much of the forum and other documentation on the Revolution Slider. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plug-in from the Virtue theme zip files in case I screwed something up, but I am unable to change the text colors and sizes in my revolution slider(s).
I have tried an image background as well as a transparent one, again, just in case I have accidentally changed a setting. I have deleted all the test sliders. Nothing.
I can not seem to get the text to get to change from the default settings to even an “in-stock” option in the “Layer General Parameters” settings using the “Style” drop down menu. When I “update” the slide and then “preview” the slide, the text color and/or size remain the same.
Can anyone advise? I haven’t messed with the CSS, that I’m aware of, so I’m pretty confused and frustrated.
