Revolution slider/mobile view/custom carousel

Hi Ben&Hannah,
just a couple of questions:
1. Do I need to update the Rev Slider manually in addition to updating Virtue? I am using version 4.6.5 right now and I saw a newer version on Themepunch’s website, 4.6.92 ?
2. Is there a way to disable the homepage slider even on tablet view and just use an alternative image instead? I noticed in the theme options it only disables the sider on cell phones. I know the Rev slider has an option to disable/hide the slider on whatever px size you want, but there is no option to have an alternative slider/image instead…
3. Do images for the custom carousel on the homepage always need to be same height/width or is is also possible to use let’s say 4:3 ratio or landscape?
