Secondary menu button width

Hi
Referring to *Login to see link
The menu buttons, Home, About etc – run into each other.
For example, highlight the Home button, then move to the About button, the backgrounds run together, there is no gap between them.
Question what I have done wrong? I have looked at another site using the same theme, and it achieves a gap between each button when hovered over.
Hope someone can help.
