shipping/ delivery at checkout

Can you please tell me how to change next day shipping from showing up as the default in the cart- I’d like to have local pick-up as the default that shows up in the cart- I’ve selected local pick-up as the default within the shipping settings but it’s still not working. I’ve also moved local pickup to the top of the others as to the order it should show next day keeps showing up in the cart and for some customers doesn’t allow them to change it within checkout.
Please assist.
