Show Logged in Member Profile Name in Topbar

Hi
I’d like to show that a user is logged in by showing their profile name and/or avatar in the top bar (same as the default wordpress admin greeting message, name and avatar). Currently there’s no site wide indication to show that a user is logged in.
pls advise?
