Slider on normal pages

I wonder if you can help. I have produced posts with different sliders, but cant seem to add any type of slider to a normal page.
I am looking to develop pages rather than posts, and to have results pages of competitions with a slider to display images and then heve the competition report underneath. As i say i can do this in a post but not a page, when i go to page builder it doesnt give the option to add a slider.
or can you only have a slider on the home page and use the home layout settings to configure the slider but if that is so how come posts can havve one and you add the images on the page itself within the settings?
