Some issues with Portfolio Carousel on homepage

On my development site, *Login to see link I have enabled the Portfolio Carousel in the Home Page layout, and I’m reasonably happy with it. However, I have a few questions:

1) when hovering over pictures, a “View details” button appears. Is there anywhere I can change that text to another language? – I couldn’t find it in the language section.
2) There is quite a large gap above and below the Portfolio Carousel – is there anywhere I can adjust that?
3) HTML validator throws the following errors at me, when the Portfolio Carousel is enabled:

Error Line 422, Column 181: Start tag a seen but an element of the same type was already open.
