Tagline issue & mobile menu

Hello this is my second install of Ascend and I’m enjoying the differing features from Virtue, it makes a fresh change for me.
I have a couple of issues I was hoping you can help with.
The first problems is that the site tag line will not be repositioned below the site title on smaller width devices. Instead it’s on the same line as the title, which looks bad. I’ve tried using css but it doesn’t seem to have any effect.
The other issue is that when viewing the site from a mobile (Samsung galaxy) the menu icon is awkwardly positioned so it crosses over the top of main page content, yet when viewing the site from a desktop with the browser width shrunk the menu icon appears correctly on the right.
Any help would be ace.
