Template conflict with Read More tag?

I upgraded from an older template to the Virtue theme. Since the upgrade, I notice the “Read More” tag that is built into the default visual editor is not working on any of the page or even the blog.
If you go to my homepage (*Login to see link you can see I have the tag entered via the source code, yet its now working properly. I can add the tag but it does not show a Read More option that you can click to reveal more text. My client really wants this read more tag. Any ideas?
