Using shop filters and the back button on browser

I’m using the shop filters on my site. When you’re in a filter (e.g. Size 4) looking at products and you click through to a product, but then click back on the browser, instead of taking you back to the filter you were on, it takes you back to the default “All” filter. Is there anyway to change this so that the user is taken back to the filter they were just on? Or is there a way to introduce a ‘go back to list’ button on the site which avoids the issue with going back to the default?
UPDATE: I have only checked the site on Chrome and Safari, it’s fine on Safari and takes the user back to the previous filter but it’s an issue on Chrome and just takes the user back to the all filter.
