Using the theme’s blog options

Ben,
Is there any drawbacks to using the Pinnacles, or any of your other themes blog sections as opposed to using the default wordpress setup.
I recently saw an article about the wordpress loop and how some builders use a second query for showing blog post and that, that may cause an issue down with some plugins.
Would that be the case with using the theme blog section or does that use the first query in the loop.
