Variation Swatch – selecting variations similar to eBay variations

Hello,
we use the variation swatches for the wool product – color variation. Example URL: *Login to see link
It looks so far good, but the implentation is not completly easy to use.
We offer the same products via eBay and there, the usage of variation swatches is easier. Example URL: *Login to see link
The difference in the eBay implemetation is mainly the variation swatches selection:
– hover over the swatch image shows the enlarged image
– clicking on the swatch image selects the variation in select box for ordering (one click).
Would it be possible to change the behavior like the ebay implemetation?
