Virtue Gallery – Gallery Type Not Working

I am trying to create a gallery page using the Virtue Gallery widget. I would like the images to be displayed as an image carousel, however, the keep appearing just as thumbnails.
No matter what “Gallery Type” I select in the Virtue Gallery widget settings, they images only ever appear as Thumbnails.
I thought another plugin may have been effecting this, however, disabling all plugins had no effect. Why won’t my Virtue Gallery work?
