I’m currently using the “old” Woo Templates instead of Elementor but I have been testing it to get a feel for it. There’s a bit of a learning curve but of course there was one for using Site Builder as well. I’m not quite ready to use WooCommerce Elementor live just now but I’ve noticed one thing that has been a drawback for me with Woo Templates as well.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to output Category descriptions on product archives.

When I go to create “Product Archive Templates” there are only six Woocommerce related items to choose in Elementor. One is Product Archive Mainloop. The others are all related to checkout. The mainloop item doesn’t seem to pick up the description even though I’ve used one for the category in my test.

I see there are some more items for product further down in the elements but I still couldn’t find an item that picked up description unless I’m just overlooking it?

And I can’t find a built in shortcode from WooCommerce to pick up the category description…

So, is there something I can add to my child functions or might this be an addition to a later version?

As I said, I’ve had this same issue with the original Woo Templates and have just used the default version since Ascend outputs the descriptions anyway. But it would be nice to have the option on this new plugin to use category descriptions if they are populated.

Thanks!

Mark

PS Clearly not urgent. As I said, I’m not using this live anywhere yet.
