In reply to: Theme Speed
June 23, 2016 at 4:34 pm #100442Hey,
What version of mysql are you using? The theme doesn’t do anything with show full columns from (think that is related to a mysqual issue with saving things to the database which is why I asked about your version). To be clear is everything up to date and in your woocommerce > system status any red errors?
And the woocommerce enable lightbox is just turned off by both free the premium theme so there isn’t double lightbox scripts running. So from the theme there shouldn’t be stuff happening every load.
Are you using page caching?
Compared to the likes of TwentySixteen… yes there would be a lot more database calls or functions running since there are a lot more options then twentysixteen. But with caching most of that should be pretty mute since you would cache all the requests and deliver that finished file to your users.
By the way I’m curious what you think a heavy set up is? WooCommerce, bbPress are some of the larger plugins no?
Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Theme Speed
Hi,
I’m doing some profiling on my site, and the theme appears to be adding a large delay to my page load times (compared to the likes of TwentySixteen, which, yes, isn’t as pretty… but is objectively faster)
My setup is fairly lightweight – theme, WooCommerce, bbPress, main menu and mobile menu (the same actual menu, though) with about 2o items, and a few images.
One query which seems to be run on every page load is SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROMwp_options, and this is taking approximately 0.25 seconds each page load.
It also appears to be updating the Options table regarding Woocommerce_enable_lightbox following this query, which appears too to be another slow database call.
These queries aren’t run when using another theme, which of course means a lesser delay in page loading.
Any insight you can provide into this or a code optimisation will be greatly appreciated!
I was using the Free theme prior to the Premium theme, and I can’t find any Theme Options in Premium regarding the WooCommerce lightbox – might this be a hang-over from using the Free theme?
Thanks
Garry
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: ICON Menu – Increase Max Columns
Hi Ben,
thanks for the instruction, this is now presenting the icons as required on a laptop screen. However the display on a mobile is still not 100%. It is displaying most the Icons in 2 columns per row (vertical screen) or 3 per row (horizontal screen), which is fine, however there is the odd row where the number of icons is inconsistent. Any suggestions?
Thank you.In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Categories Widget

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi there, I am having trouble with product category grid images display and links on mobile (and ipad vertical layout). Category image grid settings: 4 columns, horizontal thumbnail wide landscape. Images are displayed but links are not clickable so can’t open product category, only see thumbnails.
web – works
ipad – works on horizontal layout (as then all 4 columns are displayed), not on vertical (3 columns are displayed)
mobile – doesn’t work (3 columns on horizontal layout, or 2 on vertical). How do I fix this please.
Thanks for help.

June 21, 2016 at 6:04 pm #100126? I don’t get it. Why are you creating three columns? Did you not try the shortcode option. You don’t need to create any columns just use the shortcode.

June 20, 2016 at 5:57 pm #99954Artur, on your activity-tracker page. Please edit the page where you see your shortcodes can you make sure to add columns=”3″ to each. After you do that clear your cache.
You can set the active menu color in your theme options > menu settings.

Hey,
So I added columns=”3″ to your shortcodes in your activity tracker page and it is now taking up the whole space. Is that what you were wanting?
As for your shop page, I am seeing it display fine. Can you be more specific as to what you mean?
Thanks!Hannah

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Background Image size in mobile view
Hi Hannah,
Yes I’m using pagebuilder.
I have one row with two columns – the row is set to ‘full width stretched’. Each column contains the ‘site origin editor’ widget – the left hand column contains a block of text – in the right hand column I’ve set a background image to cover, I also have a button overlay.
When I collapse my browser to mobile view the image is displayed full height with the sides cropped – I would like it to appear full width. Is this possible with css styles attributes?
Thanks

June 20, 2016 at 9:53 am #99834Post a link to where you have a gallery set to three columns. I can help with your padding.
BenIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Gallery help
Hey,
You can do this using the visual editor or visual editor widget. Click Add Media then on the left sidebar click Create Gallery. Select your images and click Create New Gallery. Then set the number of columns to 3 and the size to thumbnail. Does this work for you?Hannah
