In reply to: Home carousel scroll issues after 2.2.6 update
March 19, 2014 at 7:37 am #6379Hey,
Maybe I’m confused, The carousel scroll works where where you click the arrow all the visible items scroll away. An example would be the featured products on this page: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/Determining how many items show has to do with columns and if you want multiple rows then a carousel isn’t the right option. If you are trying to show multiple rows of products you can use the shortocodes woocommerce has available.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeFirst, thank you for a great theme!
I chose 6 columns in SHOP Settings. Only 4 are showing up on Shop page. You can see that hovering over the SHOP button shows 5 Categories, though only 4 show up on the main SHOP page.
I went through previous posts, though found no answers.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
now I close to integrate the shop with my blog and I would like to include products into blog posts. There are two options using the woocommerce shortcodes [product id=”” sku=””] and [add_to_cart id=”” sku=””].
My problems are:
1. The [product id=”” sku=””] is using the same layout as the columned layout of the shop page. If I have 4 columns in the shop, the product included into a blog post is using only 1/4th of the width. But I would like to show the images in a bigger scale!2. When I use the shortcode [add_to_cart id=”” sku=””] the design is ugly. I has a big frame around and is always aligned left. Is there a chance to get all the details like title, price, VAT and the “add to cart” button centered below the image with this shortcode (or another custom build shortcode)?
I would like to do it by my own, but I didn’t find the file where to add the shortcode and what I have to add into that file!
Thanks for any help.
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
I have tested some of the site on both android standard and chrome browsers. I will limit the length of review in this post to most immediate performance otherwise it will be like a long-winded production booklet. Overall the performance and functionality worked well in both android browsers.
Android Chrome Browser
No swipe on homepage Revolution slider – need to navigate with arrows.
Icons/ descriptions and background colours work on touch (homepage).
Featured Products carousel images (homepage) – respond to swipe in both directions & touch to navigate to a product page.
Main Product image on product page responds to touch to open a light-box gallery.
Related Products (product page) responds to swipe and touch to open a product page.
Featured Projects carousel images (homepage) – respond to swipe in both directions & touch to navigate to open a Project/ Portfolio page. However, the image slider feature for portfolio image within the Featured projects carousel (e.g. Landscape Slider) – requires use of the navigation arrows – which seems to navigate straight to the project/ portfolio. (lack of control of the image slider of the project/ portfolio image within the featured project carousel)
Landscape Slider – Colors (Project/portfolio). image slider is responsive and responds to swipe and touch to open a lightbox.
Video portfolio works – within the page and in full-screen mode.
Coffee portfolio – tabs within the page work. recent projects carousel respond to swipe and touch to open a project / portfolio page.
Hot-Air Balloon – image is touch responsive to open lightbox.
Portfolio page navigation arrows work.
Surfing Images – image slider responsive to swipe and touch to open lightbox. recent projects carousel responsive to swipe and touch.
Sailing – Gallery responsive to touch – lightbox opens and can navigate the images within the gallery – utilising touch to go to the next image or use the arrows for forward and reverse navigation.
Shop – option to filter products works. touch to go to product e.g. Huntsman T-Shirt – main product image responsive to touch – opens lightbox gallery.
Tabs working within products pages. Description | Additional Info | Reviews | Product Video
Related Products carousel responds to touch and swipe.WordPress Gallery (android chrome browser) the only gallery with a problem is the carousel gallery – it responds to swipe but doesn’t respond to touch properly. the lightbox opens by touching the image edge within the carousel (e.g. top of image)
Image Carousel Post – navigate the image with arrows – no response to touch/ swipe.
Standard Android Browser
Revolution Slider responds to swipe in both directions and arrow navigation.
Featured Products carousel – responds to swipe in both directions and responds to touch to open a product page.
e.g. Adventure Pack – image touch responsive and opens lightbox.
Related Products carousel responds to swipe and touch open product page.
Featured Projects Carousel – carousel images respond to swipe and touch to open project/ portfolio page
Landscape Slider image slider within choice of Featured Project Carousel is not controllable. trying to navigate the inner slider image just opens the project/ portfolio.
Landscape Slider (portfolio) – image slider on page responds to swipe and touch to open lightbox.
WordPress Gallery (standard android browser) – All galleries work and respond to touch to open a lightbox. where relevant, all galleries respond to swipe.
in Landscape mode – the Carousel Gallery shows two columns – but the right side navigation arrow is partly on the image and the margin.
in Portrait mode – the right navigation arrow is in the margin.I have not fully tested the shopping experience. navigating the processes seemed to work e.g. add to cart, checkout. I had to use the minus button to make the choice of zero to empty the shopping cart – there is no empty cart button showing within the mobile browser.
I hope some of these notes are useful for the browser development compatibility.
P.S. Thanks before we get lost in the analysis and developments. version 2.2.4 resolved some of the issues referred to at the start of this post prior to release of that version e.g. Filter products in the WP admin back-end.

If you add the latest post module to enabled you can choose one or two columns.

March 11, 2014 at 10:47 am #6041The boxes only forum a list for you, you can add a list to the content of your post and not use the post options, then you can add as many items as you want.
You can use the columns shortcode to move them to the right if you are using the “above” layout.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Topbar DIV's
Hi Ben,
I’m trying to style the topbar so I have a box on the left which mirrors the search box on the right. I’m not using any menus or icons within the topbar, only the search box remains.
I have a child version of header-topbar.php in which I have stripped out the php from the first few DIV’s, changed them to col-md-4 and added another in the middle to give me three columns.
Everything looks fine on a big screen but on mobile the box I have on the left does not align to centre. The middle DIV and Search box do.
I’m hardcoding the DIV style to try and match the look of the Search box. Can I use an existing Virtue DIV class to get the same result?
If you open http://89.145.89.31/~pixeluti on a mobile screen you can see the misalignment.
Many thanks in advance for your help
Steve

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Vertical Alignment with columns shortcodes
March 3, 2014 at 12:07 pm #5594Oh there, I see. Well this sucks to say but it simply can’t be done. There isn’t css that can do this, javascript can but it’s super technical and really not worth it at all. Not to mention that it would need to be responsive for different screen sizes.
The best you can do is add padding to the top of each image and add a custom class then add media query css to change that padding based on screen size. With enough playing around you could get it close to looking like it was centered to the text.
Or you could not use the columns and write your own code, with table rules and table cell rules but that is also very tricky and would require a lot of work to make it responsive and cross browser friendly.
Either way I seriously don’t recommend trying and suggest you consider a different way to style your rows, with like a border on the top or something.

In forum: Virtue ThemeI’m using columns shortcodes to produce a table. I would like the content to be aligned vertically. What’s the best way to accomplish this? The page is below. Thank you!

March 2, 2014 at 3:00 pm #5554So you are using the image menu, it’s set up not to follow an image size since it was create to have a text layer over it and the images are only background images. Not meant to be images with text.
For what you are trying to do just create three columns in your home page content area (using the built in column shortcodes) and add your images with the links there.

February 28, 2014 at 10:52 am #5413Hey, you can use shortcodes to do this, here is an example:
[img_menu link=# columns=3 title="Icon Menu" description="The Icon Menu Description" height=200 image=AURLTOYOURIMAGE]Just add your image url to the last spot and adjust how you want.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
it happened again – suddenly my custom settings in Theme options were reseted to default, the same thing that I reported a few days ago. Now I was able to trace my actions: I created a new custom sidebar in Misc settings and saved my changes. The browser started to refresh but halted, in the url field there was /wp-admin/options.php – I waited for a minute or so and faced a 500 system error. Refreshed the browser and landed to /wp-admin/options.php view – went back to Theme options and goosh all my custom tweaks were reseted. I made all the changes back (had a back up but to enough recent).
I was away for an hour and came back, went to Misc settings, saved though I had not made any changes and it froze again – the same happened again! Now I’m again in default mode e.g. top bar visible (custom no top bar), custom colours from menus gone, font tweaks reseted, shop page 4 columns (custom 5), google id gone, favicon gone, language settings gone etc
You mentioned that similar may happen when there are two admin views open in browser and you jump from one to another – that is not the case here.
Any idea what might be causing this? Need to get rid of this asap, launching the store on Monday…
Thanks, Hannu
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Creating Multiple Custom Carousels
February 25, 2014 at 10:47 pm #5205In the portfolio page settings you can set a hight to crop to. so if you choose four columns that like 270 width each so if you set the height to 470 you would get a portrait image, or you can select the option to not crop the images and it will use the each images aspect ratio.

February 25, 2014 at 10:32 pm #5204Ahhh, that was simple. Thank you. In regard to the portfolio page, can you edit the dimensions of the thumbnail, or are they constrained to squares? I’m assuming that since the number of columns can be selected in the settings, the theme automatically assigns dimensions to the photos.
Thank you very much,
Kevin
