    Topic: Header issues

    #184973

    Hi,
    I’m having difficulty setting up the header the way I want it for this site.

    1. My Banner image is 1542px wide. At screen sizes wider than 1542px, I want the image to be centered. I can see vertical-align: middle; on the img element but it isn’t having any effect, and the image is left-aligned.

    I have added a gallery of type=carousel using the following in functions.php:

    add_action('kt_after_header_content', 'my_custom_head_output');
    function my_custom_head_output() {
    echo do_shortcode('[gallery columns="12" type="carousel" caption="true" ids="75,74,73" orderby="rand" link="file" masonry="default" width="" height="" speed="4000"]');
    }

    2. Is there a way to move the gallery above the banner image by changing the hook? I tried ‘kt_before_header_content’ but no luck. Should I be using some sort of slider?
    3. I want to reduce the size of the gallery images. I tried width=”150″ height=”150″ and width=”150px” height=”150px”, but the images remain fixed at 240x240px.

    Very many thanks,
    Phil.

    You can use a shortcode like this: [products limit="16" columns="4"] Then you can either paste that into a text widget within your home widget area, or if your homepage is a static page you can paste it onto the content area of your homepage.
    Hope that helps!

    HI,

    I set the layout at 1440px.

    I want to use a sidebar on my shop archive pages.

    2 questions:

    1. How to change the side bar width?
    2. I want to show 4 columns on the shop archive pages (When I go to settings and set columns to 3 > it shows 3, but when i change to 4 it shows 5!)

    How to set this up correctly?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards
    Alex

    4 columns
    4 rows

    Thanks

    You’ve got some custom CSS forcing the menu items to display in two columns.

    ul#menu-right-menu li {
        width: 50%;
    }

    Topic: Website Menu

    #184588

    My website menu for “PRODUCTS & SERVICES” is beginning to get a little unruly and I would like to figure out how to get it organized a little better…

    My website is http://www.sbmar.com

    The drop-down for products & services is THREE levels deep and contains most of my websites links, etc.

    Is there a solution that will allow the links to be better organized and not drop-down to below the screen when hovered over? I would like the links to be displayed a bit more on a “square” or horizontal plane but also still allow the sub-level menus to be accessible by hovering over.

    Is there a somewhat hybrid menu layout solution that will allow me to accomplish this? When I chose the “full-width” layout with multiple columns, it did not work at all…

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    This solution was working for a while until it failed few days ago. Now the widget only displays the code on my home page of http://www.nj-albert.com/en/ only the widget title and the string :

    PRESS RELEASES

    [blog_grid orderby=date items=4 columns=4 cat=press-releases].

    Is it the new version of Virtue that causes that problem?

    Thank you for your help.

    How about making them two columns on mobile:

    @media (max-width: 767px){
        .page-id-593 #portfolio_template_wrapper .p_item {
        width: 50%;
        float: left;
    }
    }

    In pagebuilder settings under settings in your admin you can set the screen size for columns to collapse. If you want the columns to collapse for your tablet size you can set that there.

    Hello,

    When I view my home page, there is a split content section with the title “bush-bike” I am happy with the layout on desktop, (text is on the left, image is on the right)

    However when I view in mobile or tablet the image is displayed above the text, but I would like for the text to appear above the image. Theres no mobile settings for the order of how the split content is displayed on mobile. Can this be re arranged?

    If I use 2 columns, I can order text on the left, image on the right, which is fine for both desktop and mobile (image appears below the text), the only problem comes when I view on a tablet, the image becomes small and stays to the right of the text instead of appearing below the text (like on mobile).

    I hope this can be solved.

    Look forward to hearing from you

    I am currently using Virtue Premium by Kadence. On my home page (www.danielmay.com.au) and Branding page ( I have 6 columns of images in a mosaic. However, the images are displaying in only column on my mobile device, requiring a lot of scrolling. I was wondering if there was a way to display the images in 2 columns (on mobiles) on each of these pages. Also I am hoping to potentially increase the number of rows at a later stage and still view the images in two columns on mobile devices (if this is possible).

    Hey,

    One option for a single column gallery is to use a gallery widget. Just configure the widget, and set the gallery to “standard” and the columns to “one.”

    Hi Evan,
    Which columns are you referring to? Can you post a link?

    Hello again,

    I would like to know if it is possible to switch/reverse order of the columns in a same row?
    I know that if right-to-left column order on desktop view was automatically arranged top-to-bottom on mobile devices

    Is there a way to re-position responsively?
    so the coloumn will appear [ A – B ] for desktop,
    and switch to [ B – A ] in a the mobile view?

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hey So to be clear a background is what you want since you want it to “cover” an area. Images will maintain ratio and since the ratio of your image doesn’t match the ratio of the area you ware wanting to “fill” you need to use background cover so that the image will fill it and let the excess image overflow and not be visible.

    see here for more explanation on that: https://www.kadencewp.com/background-image-sizing/

    But the issue is just because there is space doesn’t mean something would fill it and a background is only ever a background for content it can’t create space. It doesn’t set a size.

    Adding a widget into the left column does not mean that widgets height will automatically be 100% of the available height. So when you set the background for that widget it’s only going to cover the background of the widgets content.

    You would think a simple option would be to tell that widget to be 100% height. but it’s not that simple since defining what is 100% is based on content in another column in your row (so what happens when your on mobile and all columns become their own row) plus css doesn’t work that way. 100% height isn’t really a thing 🙂

    So is there a simple solution no, But there are options although before I can give you any I need to know what you expect for mobile?

    Becuase you can add a background directly to your row, instead of the left widget area, then it would fill the height. And from there you would set the right column widgets to have a white background which would give you close to the results you want with an image filling space on the left although part of your image would be cut off.

    But this method doens’t really work for mobile very well.

    You should be able to add them via shortcode into the text editor or a text widget, like this:
    [blog_posts orderby=date columns=4 items=4 type="grid" cat=photos]

    Just change the cat= to whatever category you want to show. If you want to customize the shortcode further, here are the options:
    http://docs.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle-premium/shortcodes/

    Does that work for you?
