    I am not sure if its due to latest updates as there have been many including wp update, but my page translations will over-write each other.

    I have english home page and french

    these grand-child pages used to be:

    with separate links up and down levels but now saving the english page turns the french page english content-wise and image-wise and same if I save the french page (turns the english page to french).

    I will experiment by de-activating loco-translate in the meantime to see if both plug-in might not work well together? Any ideas?

    Hi,

    Is there a way to change the default Max Images/Slider Height for feature images as they appear on a single blog post page? I would like disable it, or set the maximum to such a height that none of my images are effected by it. I see the maximum height can be set for individual posts, under Standard Post Options, but it would be great to change the default for all posts. Would there be a way to do this with some coding on functions.php?

    Previously, when I was only working locally, none of my blog posts had their featured images cropped, no matter how large they were. I don’t know why it’s changed now that my site is live, but just add that to the list of things I can’t explain about WordPress…

    Thanks,

    -Adam

    You seem to be adding these scripts to your page:

    http://www.the-rise.com/home/e3302405641982/html/youmax_evanto_v6_1/js/jquery.youmax.min.js
    http://www.the-rise.com/home/e3302405641982/html/youmax_evanto_v6_1/jquery/jquery-1.9.1.min.js
    Can you explain? They don’t go anywhere and you shouldn’t be loading jquery again.

    1. Are you talking about search results pages because that css would be:

    .search.search-results .product_item .kad_add_to_cart{
        display:none
    }

    Also when I look at the edit page for your home page in “french” it’s only english text? It’s like you haven’t translated any of the text in each place in pagebuilder?

    The errors show up on this page: distantshore.net/messages

    1. I think you’re just referring to the images loading? The next update will have this happen a little smoother.

    2. In your settings > reading. What is your posts per page set to there?

    #91299

    It’s all happening in your string translations you need to make sure that those items are not being picked that you don’t want picked up by the wpml string translations.
    I would suggest asking wpml support how you can make sure that the widgets you use in pagebuilder don’t get picked up by the string translation tool.

    Also, make sure you have not set the home page as the woocommerce shop page. As that would override the whole theme and just show the shop from woocommerce.

    This is a bit nitpicking, but better a bit more of caution than missing out something:

    I followed the hints at https://mikejolley.com/2013/08/13/keeping-your-shit-secure-whilst-developing-for-wordpress/ during developing my child theme. Hence, I set define( WP_DEBUG, true ); But when doing so, there are sometime errors, not many, but sometimes that come from virtue. Here is just one as an example. Happens when I go to the /blog/: PHP Notice: Undefined variable: fullclass

    I agree with Mike Jolley here that such errors should be caught, very often these are the ones that cause hard-to-debug errors (and security holes) in corner cases. Very bad especially for ecommerce 😉

    Just to let you know. When you click around there are more of these. If you are interested I could send you more, but it is easy to find yourself most of them by browsing a few pages.

    Ok, you can use this css for that page you linked to:

    .page-id-269 #nav-main {
        display: none;
    }

    For each other page you would do the same but change the id number to whatever the page id is for that page.

    Finding the page id is just a simple trick, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLg2T1AvmFE

    #91243

    Hey Laurie,
    That’s just because there isn’t enough content on the page to push the footer down. You can fix with this css:

    @media (min-width: 992px) {
    html, body {
    height: 100%;
    }
    html body.wide #wrapper.container {
    min-height: 100%;
    position: relative;
    padding-bottom: 230px !important;
    }
    #containerfooter {
    position: absolute;
    bottom: 0;
    left: 0;
    width: 100%;
    }
    }

    Just paste that in your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings.
    Hope it helps!

    I’m getting a series of “Illegal String Offset ‘file’ in /distantshore.net/messages/wp-content/themes/pinnacle_premium/lib/custom.php on line 234” errors. They weren’t on the page before. How do I fix this?

    Thanks!

    #91236

    If you want to get rid of the page title, then you can use this CSS for that page. Just copy and paste from the forum to Theme Options> Advanced Settings.

    .new-artists .page-header {
        display: none;
    }

    Let me know if that works for you.

    I have a portfolio grid page with various portfolio types on it. When I click on a type such as “Patterns”, that only has 2 posts attached to it, the footer background color is short and doesn’t go to the bottom of the page, on the desktop. I would like the color to not look like a stripe but go to the bottom of the page. Thanks for your help!

    #91234

    Tnx for the replay Kevin..
    Or it will be good from developers to make staff grid with options to choose: full width or sidebar page.
    Or shortcode with all options (including filter).

    #91231

    Kevin, you’ve helped my single product page come a long way to being perfect for me, thank you!

    1. I wasn’t referring to those box borders, but I love the effect your CSS has done so thanks! I’m referring to the border around the quantity box, which by extension includes the text box areas in the checkout. It’s like 1px light grey on white and hard to see. Any potential CSS code for this?

    2. Solved.

    3. Thanks, I’ll await a reply.

    4. Solved.

    5. Probably Solved. If it’s not a changeable design, I’ll easily accept that as now that the tab text is readable, I see the text pops up when selected.

    Thanks again Kevin!

    #91230

    I see what you’re talking about now! This is happening because the URL in the page title is one word. I would suggest changing it to something like “Awesome Camping Gear” and just leave it at that. It will definitely look better than the entire URL.
