    Hi guys,

    We have this page that is a product category with the display type set to show subcategories. As this page now has almost 100 subcategories it is taking a long time to load. Is there a simple way to add pagination using a child theme?

    Hello,

    I updated yesterday some plugins. Now my page is broken. Switching all plugins off does not fix it. Only when I switch to the Twenty Twenty theme it is fixed. So, what is going on with the theme?

    – Deactivate all plugins
    – Switch to PHP 7.3
    – Upload a fresh 2.5.6 Theme file
    – Cleared the Custom CSS section

    Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings:

    Hey, So that is just a notice, it’s not an error it wouldn’t affect your site at all or how it worked, it’s just telling the developer that they need to be aware of something.

    The notice is saying that you have a child theme which is using an outdated function, kadence_main_class and it should be updated to: virtue_main_class

    I hope that helps and clarifies.

    Hi – we recently changed a website over to Ascend. The site uses The Events Calendar (Modern Tribe) and we are getting this error on the Event comment area:
    Notice: Theme without comments.php is deprecated since version 3.0.0 with no alternative available. Please include a comments.php template in your theme. in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4722

    Could you please advise the best way to do this?
    We are using a child theme.
    I can see there is a templates/comments.php in the main parent theme…

    Kadence Woocommerce Elementor Pro was added tot the plugins, we don’t know why. It’s is turned off. But when turned on is doesn’t change.
    Original Kadence WooCommerce SiteOrigin Builder doesn’t show-up on WP plugin page. In ftp it’s still there but I’m afraid to do something and then loose about 30-40 templates we build. Don’t know where they are stored under….

    Same here,
    Missing Woo Template Plugin. After some routine updates.
    As mentioned above downloaded the new one: Kadence WooCommerce SiteOrigin Builder (which is still named Kadence-woo-template-builder when downloaded).
    But it won’t install. WP says it already exists !!!
    What to do???? We have about 30 templates that won’t run on the webshop right now ……
    I’m afraid of losing all templates when overwriting the plugin. Where are the templates kept?

    On other websites as well: Woo-Templates not working after Ascend update. (we use SiteOrigin and not Elementor WooCommerce which seems to have installed itself now ??). Please help fix.

    Hey Laurent, to make an empty search term output nothing you would have to change the way WordPress core works.

    Using a child theme you can add this function:

    Hi Laurent,
    1. All changes made within the theme settings will be saved when you update. No need for a child theme unless you plan to edit the theme files.

    2. You can use a plugin like Say What. Check out this post: https://www.kadencewp.com/knowledge-base/recommended-string-editor-say-what/
    Just make the text domain “woocommerce”.

    3. Have you cleared your cache? Can you post a link?

    Question 1: I did not make my site with the child theme. I downloaded it yesterday.
    If I go with this theme, I will definitely lose several settings?

    in woocommerce, I would like to change the text of the order form “ship to different address?”
    Could you help me ?

    I use the free plugin “Customizer” of woocommerce.
    I change the “Sale badge text” with “PROMO !” but on some pages and on mobiles, the text that appears is “SALE!”. Why ?

    Hey,
    1. Yes, but you would be back to the exact same issue on super large screens, the reason it’s going to break the columns further are larger screens is so that your images don’t have to get so large when the screens are enormous:

    2. It’s not part of the current output, I’ll put in on my list to add something item-specific in a future update. Otherwise, you would need to use a child theme and override the portfolio loop template.

    Hi Ben – I think the issue might have been caused by the free version of ManageWP Worker (which is set to automatically perform updates on Monday mornings at 3:00 a.m.) It seems like the 2 sites in question had their style.css file in the theme folder corrupted. To fix the problem, I rolled each site back to Ascend – Premium 1.8.8 (I backup the sites every week). I then uploaded a new style.css file via FTP to the child theme folder. After doing this and then upgrading to Ascend – Premium 1.9.0, there were no further issues. I’m not sure why this really happened but it was an easy fix and your theme continues to work beautifully. Thank you for the quick responses yesterday – I very much appreciate your help!

    Hey,
    Sorry, I did not realize you were using the free version. Is there a reason for this?
    As a workaround you could add your call to action into your static homepage. To change the tag within the built-in home call you action you would need to add a custom function into a child theme. Or else use premium.

    I think it was trying to apply automatic updates (through ManageWP) last night which somehow broke the child theme. But I can’t figure out how or why? It also is doing this on another site I manage for a client (babettedejongh.com)

    When I manually update other client sites that are running the Ascend – Premium theme it doesn’t seem to break the site. Just these 2 sites (although I’m still checking all the sites I manage, so there may be more).

    What all are you editing in your child theme? If you are overriding template files you may need to update.
