    Hello Kevin,

The plugin creates a custom post type and delivers a couple shortcodes to display the post type. The problem is on the [course_site] shortcode, which displays next courses (sorted by date etc.), the post thumbnail, some further information and a enrollment form (via contactform 7).

I can’t see how anything should interfere with the theme, but you probably know better. If you want further details of the code, just tell me.

And anyway this is only a temporary solution, as soon as I have some more time, I’ll write a template for the custom post type and will not be needing this shortcode anymore. By the way is there a easy way to choose sidebars for custom post type templates? (I didn’t do research on it yet, so probably I should be able to figure it out on my own if it’s more than just a quick answer).

    Hey,
This isn’t an option as part of the contact template. so you would just need to build it using pagebuilder and a contact form plugin like contact form 7: https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/

You can use the theme map widget and pagebuilder to add both maps and then in a new row below add your contact forum using the plugin.

Yes, it is. But it´s a good workaroung and I can live with that.

I already deactivated every plugin except Contact Form 7 and deleted every Custom CSS without any success. I even deleted the plugin and installed it again. No change at all.
The plugin itself doesn´t have any settings for text box sizes or other CSS related things. But you can easily change this by some custom CSS like you did. In most cases it works fine with many themes. As I said, in my other Pinnacle installations it works without any added CSS. It expands to 100% of the surrounding div.
I´ll give it a try to duplicate the whole site to another Mamp installation and see what it looks like then.

That is odd. The first thing that I would look for is a plugin. It’s likely that something is writing some CSS that is overriding the settings for that plugin.

Also, I’m not super familiar with contact form 7, but does it have any settings for text box sizes? You could check there too just in case.

    Hi,

I made a contact page using contact form 7 as many times before. But this time the form doesn´t expand to 100% width. At smaller viewports everything seems to be allright and the form collapses as it should. In wider views it stucks aroung 350px. It doesn´t matter if I put it into a widget in Page Builder or without directly into the page or deactivate all customm css code and all plugins. It stucks at this width.
On a Mamp testing site it works out of the box.
I don´t have any clue what to do. Do you have any idea? (The site is hidden but I can give you access if you want.)

    Thank you,
    Dirk

The contact template as the form on the right and content on the left. Thats the layout. If you want a more custom layout I suggest using https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/

So if I disable anyone one of the following plugins the theme settings come back

    Yoast SEO
    Contact Form 7
    Slider Revolution
    Page builder

    #111964

So I enabled contact form 7 and then disabled Page Builder and it the theme settings came back. So I am not sure which is interfering.

Can you enable contact form 7?
Have you tried deacitvating your other plugins to test if any are intefering with the contact form?

Contact form 7 all of the sudden is making the virtue theme settings to be a blank page. The settings come back when I disable Contact form 7.

    Wordpress 4.6.1
    Virtue Premium 3.8.6
    Contact Form 7 4.5

That would require a child theme. The themes contact form is not designed or set up to be customized. For that I suggest using a plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/

Thanks for the kudos Brandy & Bogdan!

I’m not a developer, so talking out of school here, but I would imagine the easiest way to achieve what you’re looking for Bogdan is a Child Theme with custom CSS using the free “Contact Form 7” plugin.

If the Child Theme had several Contact Page layouts you could choose from, then you could choose your favorite and forget about custom coding. In the future, Kadence has stated they’ll be releasing more Child Themes, so you may have a variety of options for a Contact Page.

Not sure if Kadence has plans to release a Form Widget, but that would be cool. 🙂

    Hey,
That isn’t an option with the theme contact form. We do recommend using contact form 7 (plugin) if your wanting to edit or customize a contact form as the theme one is meant to be simply and limited.

    Hello Phillip,

I’ve never used that plugin before, but with so many users and such good reviews, I’d be very surprised if it didn’t work with the theme.

Have you already purchased the theme? If so, you might as well give it a try. Another really good plugin for a contact form is Contact Form 7. I know it works with the theme and it’s quite powerful.

Just be sure that you read the full plugin documentation so you can be sure that you’re configuring it properly.

It’s not an option with the theme contact form. You would have to edit the template. We suggest using a plugin if your wanting more then what the simple thing contact form does. Contact form 7 is a good plugin.
