Topic: Contact Form Uploads
Hi there, I’m not sure if you can help or not for some reason the uploads are not displaying correctly.
When users fill out the form the success message displays with a link to the pdf to download.
To test it out, fill out the Create your flight plan form and click on the link and you will see the error I get.

Hi Hannah, Ben and the Team
I did des activate all plugins with no luck. I did read all the doc from contact form 7 and I must say I am lost. I tried to use WP forms lite suggested by Kadence, did the integration procedure and set up Recaptcha. That works, but the messages are sent to my mail box. I’d like the messages to be sent to my daughter’s mail box instead since it is her website, but I have not found a way to do that.
So I set Contact Form 7 again. The recaptcha device still doesn’t work.
All I need is a way for my daughter to receive email messages from her clients.
Could you please help me find a way.
I haven’t been able to contact the plugins support forum.
Your help has been great so far and I trust you’ll be able to help me with this issue. https://jennytribillon.com/Pascal

Hi Ben
I am using Contact Form 7 with Simple Recaptcha. https://jennytribillon.com/
There used to be a addition test with 2 figures. NOW I Get 4 letters and sending an email fails.
PascalIn forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
After an update of WP all my content was reverted out of Page Builder and the code was changed in such as way that I cannot put it back into Page Builder and have it format correctly. I have contacted Site Origin already and they have advised me to contact you for help (see bottom of email for details).
One of the other main problems is that all my accordions break whenever any content is changed. Site Origin even rebuilt a test page, but then I pointed out that editing that page once again broke their buttons.
I’m trying to find out what will be easiest at this point to fix all the multiple pages on my website? Seems like I may need to do a full re-build. *Login to see link
Here is a page with the accordions broken because an admin recently tried to update some content: *Login to see link
This page is one where I disabled the accordion so at least we can see the content, but they are all now open: *Login to see linkPlease advise. Here is the last message from Site Origin:
Hi Connie, I’ve had everyone here at SiteOrigin looking at this and we’re at a loss. What we can say is that our new page, Classes Test, is functioning normally. Revisions work and we can revert to Editor and then restore into Page Builder. Your existing pages are missing widget shortcodes that allow this functionality (moving from Text tab to Page Builder). We introduced this in 2017, it’s unclear why recent saves, say 11 months ago, didn’t introduce this functionality into your Page Builder source code. On my local computer, I’ve restored to a version of Page Builder from 2016, even then revisions work as expected. We tried restoring page revisions on some of your pages, the issue persists. At the moment, we don’t know of a method to resolve the problem on the pages reverted out of Page Builder. I’m really sorry for the hassle this has caused. If I can send you a complimentary copy of SiteOrigin Premium, please email me on [email protected]. New pages appear to be functioning normally for what that’s worth. For the future, you could consider a backup plugin. *Login to see link doesn’t have scheduled backups but it is handy for the occasional manual snapshot. I’m here for any questions you may have moving forward.
(but their test page actually isn’t working – the buttons are broken: *Login to see link

In forum: Ascend ThemeHi Ben,
It’s just the standard linux package from SiteGround using cPanel.
I’m using Contact Form 7 on the site for the other contact forms and those seem OK.
It’s just the testimonial form using the shortcode that shows the linefeed codes rather than making line breaks. It shows Name:The actual name
Followed by backslash n backslash n
And then Comments: and the actual comment.
All on one line.
(BTW: They are backslashes, I mistakenly wrote forward slashes in the OP)In forum: Virtue ThemeJune 17, 2019 at 1:11 pm #228472I was able to log in and run a quick test, your issue is created from “Mod_Security” on your server. This means that something you were trying to save was creating a security alert or some times this can happen from an outdated Mod Security or incorrect mod security settings.
The issue was with your custom css box. Once I tested by clearing it then mod security wouldn’t post an error. I slowly added it back to see if there some something in particular that mod security didn’t like about your css. I couldn’t find anything. It just stops allowing the save to the database at an unspecified point. I assume it’s based on character length.
I tested trying to save into the customizer and you get the same error.
so I suggest you contact your hosting provider and you can leave the theme out of it by simply showing them that if you go to customizer > additional css you can’t save your css in there. That should get them to take ownership and fix the mod security issue.
Here is an output of your css:

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Virtue contact form is unable to filter out spam
Hello,
The theme contact form is meant to be quite basic. Users who wish to add more features to their site’s contact forms should really be using a plugin. There are a lot of really good plugins out there developed by great teams with the sole purpose of adding secure and customizable contact forms to WordPress sites. We recommend to all users who wish to customize contact forms that you use one of them for more advanced applications. I can’t speak for the recapctha plugin that you’re using, but it doesn’t seem like it’s working properly if you’re getting a lot of spam with it active.
I suggest you take a look at this post:
https://www.kadencewp.com/create-custom-contact-forms-with-wpforms/It covers customizing the forms with WPForms, and adding security via reCaptcha directly to the plugin. Using the plugin, all of your needs should be met. Given the quality of this plugin, it doesn’t make any sense for the theme to have all of this functionality built in when there are already developers who offer amazing products for free that fit this niche.
I know you stated that you don’t wish to use a plugin for this, but in this case, the plugin is the most logical method. We can assist you with any styling issues you run into. There’s also Contact Form 7 and other plugins out there that are great for contact forms.
I’ll flag this thread for a developer followup and Ben will be able to comment further on this matter when he’s available, but take a look at the post I linked to and let me know what you think. While I understand wanting limit the use of plugins, there’s really no reason not use them when they’re well developed and supported for a specific purpose such as this.

In forum: Ascend ThemeHi, we are using Ascend Premium and purchased WPForms for contact forms based on the theme’s recommendation. We are having issues with dropdowns in the forms. I contacted WPForms first and they tried to test using free Ascend and could not duplicate the problem I am having with Premium. They had given me some CSS to use to try to help and it didn’t work either.
If I use placeholder text in the dropdown, the window is only one character wide. I’ve tried small, medium, large window settings and none work. If I don’t use placeholder text, the window is only as wide as the first item in the dropdown. So if the first word is 8 characters, and there is a second item in the dropdown that is 12 characters, it cuts it off at 8 characters.
Also, I am unable to use the recommended WPForm setting “Base & Theme Styling” as it has formatting issues. If I use Base Styling it is much better, except for the dropdown menu issue.
The site is currently on an internal test server so there is not external access. I can attach a few pics of what the dropdown looks like.
Any assistance appreciated!
In forum: Virtue ThemeCurrently the Virtue Premium Theme website that I am working uses the contact template that came with the theme.
If I decide to use the contact 7 plugin. Can I do the following:
Continue to the use the Contact template with contact 7?
If I use contact 7 in the contact template, do I turn off the “use contact form” under Contact page options?
Thanks, Steve

March 22, 2019 at 12:34 am #220634The one by the form is technically not located on your site. Because your form is an iframe it’s loading content from another site into your site through an iframe window. To have it apply to the form it has to be loaded there.
So the one on the bottom of your site is being added by a plugin or some other script. perhaps contact form 7.

=================Problem seems to be with the custom wordpress theme which you are using for your website. Web programming provides a large amount of flexibility, but it can be hard learned and small mistakes can make a script malfunction. Unfortunately, it is beyond our scope to debug scripting issues that are not related to the server or server miss-configuration. We therefore recommend you seek assistance from theme provider or professional web developer in this regards.
I attempted to update the virtue theme yesterday and it gave me an error message. I also was getting a message that I needed to install Kadence Blocks, which I had previously done (I was using the block editor already, so seemed odd to get this message). When I attempted to install kadence blocks, it gave me an error, saying the folder already existed. As of this morning, I haven’t been able to access anything.
Please let me know if you need any more information to solve the issue.
Thank you!

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Guys!
Please can you help with an Elementor form I have on my site that has an issue with the “drop-down select” field option.
*****
I flagged this with Elementor and they tested and came to the conclusion it was a theme incompatibility.
*****
This is what they said;I’m afraid that the Dropdown doesn’t work due to a conflict between Elementor and your Theme.
I made a brief screencast:
*Login to see linkIf you switch to a default theme, the dropdown works smoothly.
I already tagged this ticket as a possible Theme Incompatibility so our developers could take a look at it and take the necessary measures.
Please, contact the plugin author and notify them regarding the issue, given that the solution is not forcibly on our end. They can get in touch with us on our GitHub project. This is where development issues are handled.

– Select Option fields are transparent when they should be white like all other fields (works fine on mobile)
– Select Option fields are not responding as in they do not drop down. (works fine on mobile)Thanks in advance,
