Topic: Can’t edit header and footer
I’m in Appearance->Customize
I can’t edit my header or footer. I can’t move the blocks around or add new ones.
Pretty sure I’m current on all my updates. I’ve cleared my cache. I’ve tried deactivating some plugins.
Anyone know what to do?

Thank you for providing the administrator role to us. Upon checking, your theme and a lot of plugins are not in their latest versions.
I saw that you have a link that was not closed properly in Theme Options > Footer Settings. I have corrected this and now the popup do not have the link anymore.

No this isn’t possible, Kadence cloud is for sections of content, you can create sections that could be used to populate parts of a site that is not traditional content, for example, header and footer but you can’t create actual templates that would be used in FSE (which is still very much a minimum viable product and not ready for most people) or templating through elements which relies on specific hook settings to define how each is used.To further clarify no you can not generate an FSE theme using Kadence.

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you!
Just to confirm, was your test website blank before you imported the child theme’s templates? It is possible that your header, footer, and typography settings were already set up which is why they did not follow the template. If you revert your test website to a pre-import state and do the import again, will the issue persist?
Additionally, kindly double-check if the Import Customizer Settings option is enabled when you’re importing the full site – https://share.getcloudapp.com/E0uo64lR.

Apologies for the delay! Sorry to hear this has been your experience. I have not heard of others experiencing these issues. Are you running the latest version of WordPress? Would you mind sending login info so we can take a look?
There isn’t an option to add reusable blocks to the footer. You would need to use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/reusable-blocks-extended/
If you switch to Virtue theme your pages/posts and content will be saved. But all your setting will need to be re-set.Kindly,

Wow, that’s good to know and I appreciate your help and the info. The border image now displays correctly across the width of the browser, both in the footer and just below the header on all pages except the Home page.
Interesting about the svg rendering; I’ve been trying to use more svg images when possible for icons, graphical images, etc to keep media file sizes down, but this was the first time I’ve used an svg in this way. Will have to do more research on this for other what to do/not do in the future.

I created my theme with the child theme builder, and when I test out my theme on a test site, none of the customizations such as the header, fonts, footer, etc. do not transfer over after using my template in the Starter Templates.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also – is it possible to copy a row layout from a page and re-use this in the widget blocks of the footer? I can’t see the “re-usable blocks” in the Appearance> customizing > footer section?
Another question: If I decide to delete the Kadence blocks theme and move back to Virtue premium – what happens to all the design done in Kadence theme and blocks?

Thank you very much for your reply.
For the image I’ve uploaded was after I’ve tried the “Social” item and was not successful to display those sisal icons. they are all links embedded as well.I have tried on two different WP site (one online and one offline/Localhost via MAMP) with the same setting.
What I have notice is that the on live-preview on General – Customise – footer/header, I can see another updates/modifications in live. but Social Media icons do not show up on the live-preview.
For online Wp site, I see the social Media icons on header and footer, when I visit as a visitor and not WP admin.Those two different WP site shows the same issues on the social media icons.
Is there anywhere that controlling the live-preview of footer/header customise?It would be great if you could help.

Thank you for reaching out to us and attaching a screenshot.
On your screenshot, you’re using a Widget footer item and adding the Gutenberg Social block in the widgets. For those links to show, you should add links for them.
On the other hand, if you want the same social links as on our website, you’ll need to add the Social header/footer item. Here’s a screen recording for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/v1uL5N98.

I’ve been trying to add social media icon on header and footer, but not been successful.
I’ve looked at this page of yours

and tried on header and footer, but nothing appears on header nor footer.I thought may be the icon label colors are clear or white, but couldn’t fine any setting to change that.
Also moved other hear items on top, mid low rows and I see immediate change on preview, but not social media.
They are all have link embedded.Is there any place that explaining step by step asI can not find any solutions. I must be missing some crucial step.

I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure this out and it’s driving me nuts because I feel like it’s something very simple I’m overlooking…
I want the top border of my footer to display a custom image (svg is preferred but have the png file also), not a solid color. I’ve gone into the Customize settings, I’ve tried creating a hooked element (get weird spacing on all sides), etc. and am running into a brick wall on this. Can you help?
Here’s the current page. The multicolored bar floating above the footer is the image and I want it to display where the red divider (currently a hooked element) is flush above the footer. Any direction you can provide is greatly appreciated!

I noticed at the top of my footer (which is currently a dark blue) there is a shadow of the content background color (white) at the top.
Is there a way to remove this?

Hello,
I’m using Kadence Theme and Kadence Blocks. Both are the pro versions.I am trying to change the footer link colors in the three text widgets in the footer to white and change to green (#059669) on hover with no underline.
Currently the links are all using the colors set in the customizer.
I only want this to happen in the footer, not throughout the entire site, so I can’t use the customizer. The footer widgets with the links are widget 2, widget 3 and widget 4.
Can anyone help? A screenshot is attached.
