    Hey, Hanna

    I am not using a plugin to translate the site, as Virtue Theme and Woocommerce both are already translated to Portuguese. After your answer, I tried to use Poedit to see if I could find this string in both, Virtue and Woocommerce language files, but I could not find this sentence that is in the search bar. Do you have another idea on how I could change this text?

    by the way, I don’t know if it helps, but I am using the following CSS to style this search bar (theme options ->advanced options):

    .kad-header-widget .form-search .search-query {
    border: 2px solid #C9CCCF;
    border-radius: 1000px !important;
    opacity: 0.8;
    color: #60626b;
    min-width: 300px;
    }
    .kad-header-widget .form-search {
    border-radius: 1000px;
    min-width: 300px;
    }

    Thank you,
    Felippe

    Hey,
    You can use WPML string translation to translate each section of the homepage layout options from the theme options. Or build your page in page builder without using the theme options as everything is available in page builder as well.

    It’s important to note that your portfolio posts must be translated for them to show in both languages. Have you made sure to translate each post?

    I can’t seem to export the Kadence Sliders. I have created 11 of them and now need to duplicate this site. I’ve tried the ‘Export Slider’ button on the Kadence Pro Sliders List page as well as the ‘Export’ option under the ‘Tools’ section. I check the radio button next to Kadence Slider, but when I open the XML it looks like the code below. It doesn’t look like slider information, it’s asking me to assign it to a user….?

    Any suggestions?

    Hi everyone,

    I’m trying to put the home header in two differents languages, to make the translation, i’m using polylang plugin.

    If I put the page title into the page settings, nothing appears, It appears just if I put the title and the subtitle into the theme options (slider home tab, title option).

    But in this way I cannot put the other Home page version in Spanish.

    Please, someone could help me, please?

    Thank you very much in advance.

    #159955

    I see. Thanks.

    As I am redesigning an old web page do you think this change will create a problem because of different url’s?

    on the old page I have not used the languange on the url. See here the difference:

    https://www.cuba4allreizen.nl/places-to-visit-in-cuba-and-sites-of-interest/

    https://wprueba.cuba4allreizen.nl/cuba4allreizen/en/places-to-visit-in-cuba-and-sites-of-interest/

    I guess if I must use the language on the url then anytime anyone would type the old address will get a 404 error?

    My idea was to replace the new website with the old one keeping the same url’s…

    Thanks again

    Hey,
    Looks like you’re using the woocommerce product search widget? The language settings would only affect the theme search. Are you using a plugin to translate your site? You should be able to edit that text within the string translations. Let me know if you can’t find it.

    Hello,

    In the website http://www.emporiograodeouro.com.br , I would like to change the text inside the search bar to “Digite aqui o que procura”. I tried to use theme options-> language options, but it didnt work, maybe because the search bar has some CSS styling it…

    Could you guys give me a hand on this?

    Thank you,
    Felippe

    #159882

    I see, for the string translations to work you need to have the language in your url. See how I fixed your settings.

    I have 3 different languages.

    It has been working fine until few days ago when stops showing the correct slider on other languages and is just showing the slider with the default language.

    I have created a slider for each language.
    Each slider has been translated using Polylang options where it has been assignated a different shortentry.
    And on theme options, homepage settings I have selected “shortcode entry” and on shortcode entry I have selected the default slider.

    So I think I have done everything correctly. Do you know then why is it not working?

    Thank you!

    #159248

    Hey,
    You have to use a multilingual plugin if you’re wanting to have any pages be translated and using a specific language tag.

    So if you wanting to go that route then using something like WPML is your best option and you can translate as much or as little as you want.

    1. Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings:

    img.kt-sw-img {
        max-width: none;
        width: 90px;
        height: 120px;
    }
    .variations .kad_radio_variations.kt-image-color-sw label span.kt_color_sw_span {
        height: 120px !important;
        width: 90px !important;
    }

    2. You can change the text for both of those statements in Theme Options > Language Settings.

    Hi Hannah

    1) Yes it works with Woo Extra plugin. However, I would like to have the swatch picture size to be 3:4 instead of square – e.g. 90x120px. Can this be done?

    2) Furthermore for some reason “clear selection” + “you may also like….” is not translate into my language – how can I do that?

    Dear Support,

    My site http://www.photoscapeart.com is currently in EN language but I would like to start promoting it in targeted countries such as Germany, Netherlands, etc.
    Instead of translating the entire site, I thought about creating landing pages in other languages. Virtue has a template for it. The question is: can I add a specific Hreflang to each page? Is it actually wise and the most logical thing to do? I could activate the WPML plug in but with it lots of others since I am using woocommerce.

    Thanks for your time and suggestion.

    Hey Park,

    You should be able to have a separate slider for each language by adding your primary language to your shop via shortcode. Then in the string translations, you can translate that shortcode with the secondary language shortcode.

    Hey Ben,

    I accomplished something close to what I was after with Kadence Slider Pro from within the store settings. My only gripe is that there isn’t really a way to set one for each language so I just decided to have two slides cycle with each corresponding language on it.

    If you have any updates on the blog portion of the question please let me know asap.

    Thanks

    Hey Kevin,

    That code restored most of the icons but, in the topbar I am still missing the icon link icons for facebook and instagram in both languages.

    I have enabled and disabled and then re-enabled them to see if that was the problem but they don’t seem to want to come back.

    I know they are there because the “Your cart” Is still being pushed to the right and if I click and drag on the empty space the link alt text becomes visible.

    Hi, again,

    I have a multi-language site (Japanese and English). (I am using WPML)

    On the Japanese side my virtue icon links and icons in general are broken.

    To make the Japanese font match up in thickness and size for the kanji and roman characters I found that most browsers default kanji to Chinese unless you specify them as Japanese.

    So to combat this I coded this into my CSS options:

    :lang(ja) {
    font-family: "Hiragino Sans", "Hiragino Kaku Gothic Std", "ヒラギノ角ゴ Pro W3", "Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro",Osaka, "メイリオ", Meiryo, "MS Pゴシック", "MS PGothic", sans-serif;
    font-weight: 100;
    }

    However, I am assuming that this is fighting with the icon font.

    How can I get the Japanese font families and this:

    [class*=" icon-"], [class^=icon-] {
    font-family: virtue_icons;
    speak: none;
    font-style: normal;
    font-weight: 400;
    font-variant: normal;
    text-transform: none;
    line-height: 1;
    }

    to play nicely.

    Thanks for all the help.

    That is cached in the sessions based on what language you start in. If you switch languages you have to clear your cart sessions. One simple way to do this is by adding an item to the cart and removing it. Or from within woocommerce tools, you can clear all sessions.

    Hi,

    I am using on the web a minicart icon on the header:

    I am using polylang for different languages but when I go with mouse over the icon I onle get information in ducth even all strings are properly translated with polylang and loco translate.

    the messages are only shown in Dutch, it should say for example: “your cart is empty” on the english page.

    Any advise on this?

    Many thanks
