In reply to: best approach to create french version of site
November 19, 2015 at 5:59 pm #67638Hey,
You need to use a multilingual plugin if you want there to be two separate sites menus, content, landing pages… see here: https://www.kadencewp.com/working-wpml/Creating a multilingual site can be complex in that you have to create all the content twice once for each language. If you just want to have a page for french information thats one thing but if your want to have a complete french version then you need a plugin like WPML.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Polylang blog page
Hi Ben,
I just started wuth a new webpage and will go on with your pinnacle theme. On my old page I’m using qTranslate more than 5 years now, but with the new page I want to use page builder so I decided to go with polylang.
But I’m facing an issue with the blog page. I have configured the blog page to display full posts. This works ok with the german blog page (that is configured in the reading option of WordPress as the post page), but in my second language the blog page shows only the excerpts of the posts.
I cannot configure theses options on the translated blog page, even when I configured the page template as blog.In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Danish translation
November 16, 2015 at 4:02 pm #67188Hey,
There is a da_DK.po and .mo file in the languages folder of the theme. Once you set the site to be danish that file should take effect. If you need to update or change something you can use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/Ben

November 16, 2015 at 12:20 pm #67120Hey,
this has to do with the permalinks structure. Polylang is limited on how it does the string translations. For it to tigger the full layout you have to use The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks.
I changed it so you can see.Ben

In forum: Virtue ThemeNovember 16, 2015 at 8:09 am #67090Dear Sir/Madam,
Does WPML work well with Virtue Theme?
I am searching for a multilanguage plugin that will support woocommerce.
Is there any other plugin that you will recommend?
Appreciate your help in this.
Thank you.
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I have a couple of questions. Would appreciate if you could help me to solve that.
1) Actually, I used Virtue Demo content (style 3) for my site. The problem: now if I enable on “Page Content”. I see on my page the Revolution slider and also below that again 2 images, which are in the Revolution Slider. Could you please advice me, how I can remove that 2 images, which I already have in Revolution Slider?
My web-site is: moscow-monopod.ru
2) Also If you have a look at the slider, you can see that there is dark shadow below that. How I can remove that, please?
3) In the featured products, I have a stripe with the text: “Add to my cart”. How can I translate that to another language? I did not find where I can change that.Thanks a lot
Alexander.In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Translated Kadence slider in Pinnacle with WPML
Hello Hannah,
Thanks. I only use WPML for creating the language versions. The actual translation is done “manually”.
I just tried the following:
In the string translation list I see an item “[pinnacle]home_cyclone_slider” value: “[kadence_slider id=”138″]”. That is the slider I entered in the Theme options screen. So, in the translation box of this item in the string translation list I entered the ID of my translated slider. I left the checkbox “Translation completed” unchecked.
No effect: in Dutch and English version the same slider is shown.How do I use the string translations plugin to change the slider language?
Regards,
Michel.In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Translated Kadence slider in Pinnacle with WPML
Hey Michel,
Are you using a separate plugin to translate your theme? I would recommend adding one slider as a shortcode in your theme options > slider settings then use the string translations to change which slider shortcode is used based on the language. Does that make sense?Hannah
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
I have a Pinnacle Pro site in English and Dutch language, using WPML (string translations installed). I want a different (translated) Kadence slider on the homepage of each language.
I made a slider and translated it. This gives me 2 shortcodes. I pasted both shortcodes in the “Ïf cyclone slider or any shortcode” box on the theme options page
(Homepage slider options).Problem: both sliders appear on both language versions on the homepage.
Question: how do I get the right slider on the right page?Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the link. And when you say theme files, can you be more specific? Most of my changes are related to cosmetics, like language, colors, font, etc.

Hey Ben how are you doing 🙂
Any chance we could get you to add the OG meta tags in to the theme ? It’s a pity to have to add Yoast plugin to minimalistic sites.
It’s really not too hard… something like this (http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-add-facebook-open-graph-meta-data-in-wordpress-themes/)
//Adding the Open Graph in the Language Attributes
function add_opengraph_doctype( $output ) {
return $output . ' xmlns:og="http://opengraphprotocol.org/schema/" xmlns:fb="http://www.facebook.com/2008/fbml"';
}
add_filter('language_attributes', 'add_opengraph_doctype');//Lets add Open Graph Meta Info
function insert_fb_in_head() {
global $post;
if ( !is_singular()) //if it is not a post or a page
return;
echo '<meta property="fb:admins" content="YOUR USER ID"/>';
echo '<meta property="og:title" content="' . get_the_title() . '"/>';
echo '<meta property="og:type" content="article"/>';
echo '<meta property="og:url" content="' . get_permalink() . '"/>';
echo '<meta property="og:site_name" content="Your Site NAME Goes HERE"/>';
if(!has_post_thumbnail( $post->ID )) { //the post does not have featured image, use a default image
$default_image="http://example.com/image.jpg"; //replace this with a default image on your server or an image in your media library
echo '<meta property="og:image" content="' . $default_image . '"/>';
}
else{
$thumbnail_src = wp_get_attachment_image_src( get_post_thumbnail_id( $post->ID ), 'medium' );
echo '<meta property="og:image" content="' . esc_attr( $thumbnail_src[0] ) . '"/>';
}
echo "
";
}
add_action( 'wp_head', 'insert_fb_in_head', 5 );

You can use poedit and change the themes hr files.You can set the language in your general settings of wordpress you don’t need to define in wp-config any more.
