    Hey, If you go to theme options > language settings you can customize a lot of the generic words.
    Hope that helps!

    I am going to use Virtue to create a website in Spanish, and another website in Russian. My sites won’t be multilingual, it will just be one site completely in Russian and another one completely in Spanish.

    I would like to know how translate some of the main words of the Virtue Premium Theme. Generic words like “Read More”, “Archives”, “Category”, “Recent Posts”, “Lates Posts” and a few more words. I have my own translators, so I can write the translations myself, or use an existing file. However, I don’t want to translate the Admin for the theme or for Word Press, as I want to keep it in English. With another theme I bought from another company, one of the theme options panel is “translate” and there I can select the words I want to translate, and just write the new word I want to replace from English to another language. Is there anything similar possible to do with Virtue? or using a plugin? I know that you offer the language files that I can translate, but I am wondering if is possible just to translate a few words in a simpler way, and also to make sure of having the admin back end language in English.

    One thing that I see important to add to each page or post is the code: Lang ” ” with the new language, so that search engines know the new language of the pages or posts. How do I change that code for the whole theme?

    Thank you for your help!

    If you upload the fr_FR.mo file to your languages folder in the theme then it will automatically be picked up if your wordpress language is set to french.

    Hmm, try this.. in the wpml-config.xml file in the theme folder. Add this right below the <key name="virtue_premium">

    <key name="x1_virtue_logo_upload">
    <key name="url" />
    </key>
    <key name="x2_virtue_logo_upload">
    <key name="url" />
    </key>

    Then in your string translations you should be able to set a different image url for each language.

    Topic: Change SKU

    #18534

    Hi Ben,

    I was wondering whether it would be possible to change SKU to different text on the products page?
    I would like to change it to Part#
    I have read how it can be done using the meta.php, but would prefer if the function was available under the language settings.

    Thanks.

    Hello Team!
    First of all I want to say that your theme is great! I am having an inconvenient. I do not see the topbar widget; which I actually need to add the WPML language switcher. The topbar widget is not listed on my list of widgets. I have: Primary sidebar, Home widget area, footer column 1 to footer column 4. Should I do something that I am not aware off to activate this widget? Why is it not listed? Many thanks for your prompt response, I am kind of stocked on this, since the website I am doing has to be bilingual. Have a good day.
    Gustavo.

    in the theme options > language settings you can change the sold. The out of stock is woocommerce text so you would have to edit their framework or hide the text with css by adding this:

    #content div.product p.out-of-stock{
    display:none;
    }

    Hi again,

    ok, so I was able to setup the revolution sliders same as the kadence sliders I had done, but again, the sliders are called using shortcode in the Home page for both the French page and English page.

    Was not able to setup the theme option to show the header (this is what I wanted) cause I cannot see or figure out how to make the multilingual call depending on the language selected.

    Ben, if you could help, that would be appreciated. Not sure if this is because I use polylang and not wpml. If I have to add another plugin, let me know which. I searched for the wpml plugin but there is so many of them, I dont even know which one to pick, and hopping to be able to still keep the polylang pluggin as well.

    Thanks

    Ben,

    Thanks

    Hi Ben,

    the recent 2.6.1 changelog said something about translation updates, so I updated the theme but was disappointed to see that the mistakes I pointed out previously are still in there:
    $ grep -R E-mail *

    languages/de_DE.po:msgstr “Bitte gültige E-mail Adresse eingeben.”
    languages/de_DE.po:msgstr “E-mail: ”
    languages/de_DE.po:msgstr “Sende E-mail”
    languages/de_DE.po:msgstr “Stellt die E-Mailadresse für das Kontaktseiten E-mail Formular ein.”

    No big issue in this case, but please give a short notice when the fixes have been made it into an update.

    Thx, Nadine

    Hello again.

    After reading this post: WPML support I figured that this would be the correct place to ask. Maybe I’m wrong.

    I’m running a multilingual site.
    And I’m basically having the problem, that when a user has bought something and their payment has been processed and so on, they are being redirected back to the site.
    However, they are always being directed back to the default language, in this case english. This is a problem, when a danish customer buys something, and they’ve seen the danish site, but as soon as they pay, everything changes to english.

    Hi Ben,

    unfortunately, it’s wrong again:

    $ grep -Ri E-mail languages/de_DE.po
    msgstr “Bitte gültige E-mail Adresse eingeben.”
    > Wrong! Should be: “Bitte gültige E-Mail-Adresse eingeben.”
    msgstr “Bitte E-Mail-Adresse eingeben.”
    > Correct!
    msgstr “Du hast eine ungültige E-Mail-Adresse eingegeben.”
    > Correct!
    msgstr “Danke, ihr E-Mail wurde erfolgreich gesendet.”
    > Correct!
    msgstr “E-mail: ”
    > Wrong! Should be: “E-Mail:”
    msgstr “Sende E-mail”
    > Wrong! Should be: “Sende E-Mail:”
    msgstr “Stellt die E-Mailadresse für das Kontaktseiten E-mail Formular ein.”
    > Wrong! Should be: “Stellt die E-Mail-Adresse für das E-Mail-Formular der Kontaktseite ein.”

    Really, this regression bug is a bit tedious because I already corrected all of these in the po/mo files given above…

    Best regards,
    Nadine

    the social icons to the left, language selector to the right, is it possible?

    #17414

    I did not want to open another topic for this, my problem is similar, I installed wpml and language in the topbar is over social links, instead of being on the right side or the left and social links in the right, is ugly a thick top bar haha

    Hey,
    The system is wordpress default, using po and mo files to translate into any language.
    http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-translate-a-wordpress-theme/

    If you look in the theme language folder you will see the need .pot file and there is already a translation to Italian that you can look at.

    Another option is to use a plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/codestyling-localization/

    It’s important to add a system to translate Search & Contact page, for example, I want to change without edit PHP:

    /Search/

    Search Results for
    Sorry, no results were found

    /Contact/

    Name, Message, …
    Please enter a valid email address.
    This field is required.

    If you change php manually, every update remove my changes on PHP archives.
    Thanks a lot!
