Hello,

Trouble with functios.php again. Whenever I write code in child theme functions.php it goes through but then If I go and delete what I wrote, it won’t change the previous actions. Like it accepts adding code but not removing it. I disabled caching plugins and purged all cache but still the edits remain even after deleting them fron the .php file.

This time its the post format function that got stuck. I wanted to check it out on kadence as this theme doesn’t support it natively , therefore I added a function for post format to appear and it did in Posts so I could now choose and experiment with post formats. Now I wanted to remove it and I went ahead and just removed what I previously wrote and refresh the page and the post format box is still there and won’t delete. I changed to regular parent theme and there , also, the post format is in place. I check to erase with new code in functions.php [parent] and It did.

I typed this into my regular parent kadence theme [ not the child theme ] ”add_action( ‘init’, ‘remove_post_format’);

function remove_post_format() {
remove_theme_support( ‘post-formats’ );
}”

And it removed the post format, I went ahead and deleted it again and it brings it back. So natively kadence theme doesn’t support post format, how come it now only removes it by adding code. I don’t want to use this code in order to have it removed, because before I added the functions in child theme to have post formats there weren’t any by default. I want the default setting back without using code.
I want to continue using child themes but everytime I make a change to functions.php it is like permanent.
Last time I went ahead and removed the // to accept style.css from child theme , It worked for one edit and then the communication stopped. And its not the cache as I told you I removed the caching plugin.

So there must be something above functions.php that locks in the edits I make and wont erase them just by deleting code in functions.php.

I’m sorry, you are right, I mean the navigation arrows on the product page.
So, please correct me if I’m wrong:
If we link the products to only one product category, then we will only see the products from that category when we use the navigation arrows on the product page?

Hello,

I love the Kadence theme and am using it for Woocommerce on one of my sites, but since switching to Kadence, I’m now getting errors in the Google Search Console for Mobile Usability. The 2 errors are:

-Clickable Elements too Close Together
-Content Wider than Screen

and also when I run a Live Test in Search Console it tells me that the page is not mobile friendly.

Hi Judith,
Thanks for reaching out! Which navigation arrows do you mean? On your product page?
Related products will pull from products that share categories. This includes products with multiple categories.

when i updating 2.0.7 to any of the newer versions i get an error message for all blocks (please see two examples below)

All blocks are active in settings and i have deinstalled Kadence Blocks and re-installed the latest version.

That is the expected behavior and design of the Blog Archive page with the Content Boxed Layout.
What you can do is to un-assign the Posts Page in WordPress’ Reading Settings and create your own blog page using the Post Grid/Carousel block. Here’s an article you can refer to – https://www.kadenceblocks.com/docs/configure-a-blog-list-with-post-grid-carousel-block/.

We seem to be having some problems with the navigation arrows and related products, and I don’t know if these two problems are related.

First: When using the navigation arrows we would like them to navigate between the products from that category.
At this moment it’s showing all kind of products from different categories.

Same goes for the related products that are shown on the product pages.
We would like them to be from the same category but we see products from different categories.

We do have some products that are selected with multiple productcategories. Is that maybe what is causing this?
The website is still in ‘coming soon’ mode, we will be launching it this monday.

Based on your description, it seems like a caching issue. Just to confirm, do you have a server-side cache and browser caching enabled? It is possible that you have those which is why the changes are not reflecting on your pages right away.

I normally make full width websites so haven’t come across this before… I have had to redo an old clients site just as they had it which is a boxed type design. However I am getting this design error:

Hi Karla,

thank you for your helpful response.
I hope that the built-in option moved up on the developers list after 1 year.
I know this is a difficult topic, but I thought you will give me the location of these pre built brakepoint settings.

However, Kadence is the future, especially after the google core vitals update on march 2021. Website speed is for SEO the main improvement challenge.
Screw those page builders!

I have tried it on my test website and it is working fine on my end. Does the lightbox show up but with no content? Can you send us a link to the page where this happens? Also, it would greatly help if you can send us a screen recording of the issue as well.
