Hey guys,

Happy Friday. I have a question regarding Virtue drop down menus and the best way of organizing WordPress pages.

We use Virtue drop down menus, which work great. To get the sub-directories to work, we create a custom http link and add it to our menu, and them remove the link, so that the directory is not clickable (Products –> Grills –> Pages). I want to confirm that this is the right way to do this.

Also, we use CMS tree view organize our WP pages, where we create pages that act a parent folders for that category of pages. But those pages are blank, in that we only use them as folders to organize other pages. I don’t link to them anywhere. My question is whether this is the right way to organize pages, and if there is any problem using blanks pages to act as folders.

Can anyone help me with how I can share a blog post, page, image, etc. on Facebook or Twitter?

I have set up my FB and Twitter pages, I have a Facebook LIKE button on my home page, and I have links to my pages set up in my footer. However, I should like to be able to post a specific blog post or image but, having looked at a number of plugins, I can’t figure out the best way to go about it?

I have tried Jet Pack and, although I can get the buttons active on the page in question, I have no clue how to get it to actually include and information or a photo – all is wants to include is my Homepage address, although I’ve tested it and it does link back to the correct post.

I’m a little reluctant to use Jet Pack, as I think it’s slowing my site down, and I figure there must be a simpler solution.

If anyone has any ideas I’d be very glad to hear them

As long as you don’t edit the pages while you have the item deactivate you should be fine.

But I just looked, your error is not there but your pagebuilder style is strange. Are you using the latest version of pagebuilder?

In the row that your image menus are in click on the row style and make sure in your attributes that you don’t have a class.

I’ve removed the animate but am still not seeing the images – should I be seeing them? If I deactivate the visual editor and page builder plug ins then reactivate, will any content be lost/changed or is it usually safe to do so?

Hey,
You just need to make a “post” for each blog. that post will have it’s own comment form and such.

Then your “blog” page just needs to have the blog template selected.

I’ve happily created my website and got things essentially as I would like. I’m now ready to start my ‘Blog’ section, but I’ve gotten myself really confused as to how this works.

I’ve written a short article on a page called Blog here: *Login to see link and I now have more questions than answers!

I would like each blog post to have a RH column where comments can be posted but I can’t figure how to achieve this?

I am beginning to think that I haven’t got my head around how this works, as I would like a continuous blog, with the latest post at the top but I can’t see how that is done? I’m guessing I should have a separate page for each blog article and some kind of parent page? That being the case, how do I set up a parent page to show a grid of article summaries, with dates, etc. and how do I set up a comments facility for each article? I have checked my settings and I do have comments enabled.

in the pagebuilder settings you can change the margin that is between each row.

Hey carsten,
When you add a description in to a category it’s like placing it as a subtitle on a page. You can’t really add content into the category page content area.

One option is to make your own category pages using the blog template. Then you can add whatever contnet you want in the page content.

The only problem is the space between each row,

I created each row using page builder, is there any way to reduce the padding between each row?

Hi Hannah. I seemed to solved this issue but I have real edititng problems. Going from page to page is really slow. This has been a problem for a few days now. Would it be ok if you gained access to my dashboard just to have a quick check to see if everything is ok theme wise. It would put my mind at rest. Is this some thing you would do for me. If you wish to add portfolio posts to the hompepage you can either use shortcodes or set the front page as the portfolio page in Settings > Reading.

I’d like to reduce the spacing between the gallery carousel so that there is no spacing between the squares and they are seamless

I use several carousels on top of one another (using page builder), would it be possible to reduce this space too?
