I have start using Virtue Shortcodes to lay out pages rather than info boxes, and it’s working really well.

Now, I see that Shortcode Ultimate is popular, and I was wondering if you would recommended that I install it to work next to Virtue Shortcodes. Does it add more drop-in features that I could us?

Or, does Virtue Shortcakes really cover it?

did you set a mobile menu in the appearance > menus page? secondary navigation would show on desktop and your mobile would show on mobile.

Another question though. I see there is a choice of Primary Sidebar or Sidebar1. I have added images and links to sidebar1 and have that showing on my About page. But what is the difference between Primary Sidebar and other sidebar(s)?

Since there is a sidebar1, does this mean I can create Sidebar2, Sidebar3, etc.? How do I do that? I don’t see where to actually create a new sidebar. Still a bit confused I guess.

Im a graphic artist, but have been tasked with building a site, and this theme is great. Very customisable.

I was hoping someone could lead me in the right direction on how to force the shop page/category pages to view as list instead of grid by default? or if its even possible?

Is it something that is theme based or would I need to approach the woo commerce guys?

1. The default template is just going to default to show a sidebar and it will be the primary. If you want to have a custom sidebar use the “sidebar” Template. once you save the page you will see option to choose which sidebar widget area you want to use.

4. You can’t add a sidebar to the fullwidth template. the only way it could is if the template is being overridden by say your home or shop page.

5. Just create one, then use the sidebar template and you can select to show that sidebar.

You would have to edit the code for that. Since the logo just links to a page you would need to link it to an anchor in a page.

If you edited the templates/header.php file though a child theme you can change the logo link. NOTE: If you are using the shrink header you need to edit templates/header-style-three.php

on line 16 you will see: <a class="brand logofont" href="<?php echo home_url(); ?>/">

change to <a class="brand logofont" href="<?php echo home_url(); ?>/#kad-banner">

Where is the best place to get a good understanding of the difference in the page templates and the use of the different sidebar options with the page templates in the Virtue Premium Theme?

Here are some of questions I have:

Templates
1) default template
a) I think I know it’s a template with sidebar, right?
b) is a default sidebar attached to this template?
c) can I change which sidebar is attached to this template?
d) can I use a sidebar from “create custom sidebar”?
e) When I select to use this template to create a new page for the site, will the sidebar settings and content of the sidebar for the new page be locked into the same settings and content of a page previously created page using the default template?

This confused me before as I was sure it didn’t work and then it did. But now I’ve figured out my confusion.

When you use page builder and add the Virtue Icon Box widget you DON”T get the option to add links
If you use page builder and add the Icon Box you DO get the option to add links.
If you add Icon NOT IconBox you don’t get the option to add links.

What I’m trying to get to this something like this. So page builder row with icon widgets which will link to other content. Looking something like this.

Hi Melissa,
You can create your sidebar in Appearance > Widgets. To add a sidebar to the homepage you can select the sidebar layout in Theme Options > Home Layout.
As for the rest of your site, you can either use the sidebar page template (under page attributes in the edit page) or with some templates you have the option of turning the sidebar on or off(again, in the edit page). All your shop page sidebars can be set up in Theme Options > Shop Settings.

Hey Dave,
The bottom carousel on product page is your “related products carousel” since you have your columns set to 6 columns and you only have 5 related products there isn’t any need for the carousel to animate. all the items are visible. You can change the columns in the theme options > shop settings. Scroll to the bottom and change “Choose how many columns are in related product carousel”.

Stupid question I know, but how do you add a sidebar? I can’t find that option anywhere. Do I need to install a plugin to be able to utilize sidebars? If so, do you have one you recommend to work with Virtue Premium?

Specifically, I’m looking to add different sidebars to different pages, while having some pages without any sidebars. I would like to feature some of my products on the right sidebar for pages that are largely text/informational otherwise.

Is it possible to have a different border-color of .products div.product on the shop archive page (e.g. *Login to see link for mouseover. I also use flip. See this for illustration

I hacked this togehter with Chrome dev tools, but that’s not dynamic because I could not find a CSS selector for .products div.product when there is mouseover or the flip image.

If you say that this question is out of scope for your theme support, I would definitely not argue against this, but maybe you have a quick idea…

On my development site, *Login to see link I have enabled the Portfolio Carousel in the Home Page layout, and I’m reasonably happy with it. However, I have a few questions:

1) when hovering over pictures, a “View details” button appears. Is there anywhere I can change that text to another language? – I couldn’t find it in the language section.
2) There is quite a large gap above and below the Portfolio Carousel – is there anywhere I can adjust that?
3) HTML validator throws the following errors at me, when the Portfolio Carousel is enabled:

Error Line 422, Column 181: Start tag a seen but an element of the same type was already open.

I was taking about this [icon icon=icon-heart size=12px color=#009107 float=left]. I don’t think they were called emoticons in page editor but a similar name. I used them for bullets in part of my site on free Virtue but I don’t see it now in Virtue Premium.
