Hey,
Weird and ‘complex’ bug here, and I cannot find the solution 🙁

I’ve got a portfolio grid page here *Login to see link that won’t update at all, no matter what I change. I did delete a portfolio item (‘ecole Mesrobian’) but still this one shows up; I added other portfolio items of this type but they won’t add to the grid. I also tried to change the number of columns, without success. The mere adding of text in the page (with the corresponding template ‘Liban’) won’t show up!
This ‘non updating’ behavior only happens to this page! The other portfolios grid work and update fine upon changes; the other portfolio items (related to the problematic portfolio grid) update fine upon changes but the ‘ecole Mesrobian’ item which stopped updating upon new changes yesterday. I deleted it, but still I can access it online here *Login to see link !!!
Note that I tried to empty the cache of my browsers.. and still this items shows up!
I also tried to update permalinks and to deactivate recently added extensions, without success ..
Hope you’ll help me out!

Henry make sure you are using the latest version of the theme and pagebuilder. The theme version is 1.1.8 right now.

Do you have page content enabled in the homepage layout manager in theme options > home layout? Can you post a link?

Hey,
1. By “on top” do you mean above the image? showing all the time? If so then that isn’t really possible without using a child theme. The title and type and excerpt are all tide together. You can have them show below each portfolio item and you can have them be visible all the time but you would have to override the template if you wanted the title to show above the image.

2. No,
2.1 – The page title? I don’t think I understand what you mean.
2.2 – Yoast is designed to be helpful with the backend notices. But it doesn’t mean it can see everything placed into a page by a template. You can ignore it when it has it wrong. It doesn’t use a crawling system like google and you can trust that google can see your images.

Hey Mina,
You have this error: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/jquery-cookie-fails-to-load/

Means your server has some out of date files. You can install the plugin on that page and it will fix but I would still contact your server and ask them to fix.

Kathy,
In the portfolio type section of the admin. Are you editing each type and adding an image. If the type doesn’t have an image it won’t show on the page.

I appreciate this may well not be a theme issue, and more a wordpress / hosting issue, but I’m grasping for straws, and so I thought I should at least enquite.

My site (on 1and1 hosting) struggles to upload even slightly larger images (more than 1000 x 1000), whether via the dashboard uploader or the front end gravity form submission page. Here is the error some people are getting (I just get white screen of death if I use the submission form)

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 31457280) (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /homepages/9/d501553412/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/media.php on line 1987

Images appear on the ftp

Its a common wordpress problem, but my other sites (also on 1and1) are managing fine, with much larger images. Have tried lots of ‘fixes’ (editing wp-config file etc) but to no avail

Is anyone else using this theme having a smiliar issue?

A standard toubleshooting methodology is to deactivate plugins, but since so many of the plugins are Virtue theme dependent, im worried about breaking something.

Hi Ben,

I’m still unclear about the Category Grid. I’m trying to have main categories under the portfolio. However, when I created the portfolio Page (I call Gallery) and I select the Portfolio Category Grid, nothing shows up. You can see what I’m doing here: http://waterdancerphotos.com/gallery/ I’m trying to only show the main categories on this page and then for example if you click on Surf > it would show 3 other subcategories: Surfers, Surfergirls, Surf Contests, etc. However, right now the subcategory (Surf Contests) is showing up as a top category.

I see no option for this on either one, is there a hidden option maybe….

items => (a number of how many items to show ex: 8)
lightbox => true
height => (a number of how many pixels in height to crop the portfolio items ex: 200)
columns => 2, 3, 4 and 5.
showtypes => true
cat => (category term slug)

type => post, portfolio, featured-products, sale-products, best-products and cat-products.
orderby => menu_order and date
columns => 2, 3, 4 and 5.
items => (a number of how many items in carousel ex: 8)
speed => (A number, in milliseconds. ex: 9000)
scroll => 1 or “all” (if all carousel will scroll all items showing)
cat => (only works with portfolio, post and cat-products use term slug)

As for a Portfolio Web Page there is an example that does work….

As I said above, you can change it in your product edit page under Post Title and Subtitle. Just upload a background image.

Hey, there isn’t a built in option to have a slider on individual product pages. But you can change the title background image in your product edit page under Post Title and Subtitle.

Hey, page-builder kicked out a new update and changed the look on the some things, but all the settings from before are still available. If you want to add a full-width background image to a row you can hover over the tool bar on the top right of the row then click “edit row.” Under row styles > design you can upload a background image and set the style to parallax. And under Layout you can set the row layout to fullwidth.
Not sure if that’s the answer you were looking for, but hope it helps!

There seems to be a couple errors on your site. I would start by deactivating plugins. It looks like the demo content is on your page it’s just being hidden for some reason.

Hey, I’m seeing this on the homepage but not any other pages? But it also looks like you’ve made the homepage the about page?
If you’re using page-builder you cannot also use the page editor. So you would need to paste the shortcode into a text widget through page-builder.

Hello, I created a page called “Featured Products”, giving it the “fullwidth” template.
I use the following shortcode
[featured_products per_page="12" columns="4" orderby="rand"]
I have 20+ products labeled as “featured” but this shortcode only shows 12 products, not more. There is no pagination and no infinite scroll active.
I have to raise per_page to 100 to show all featured products which is only a limited work around.

i am currently working on my second page with the pinnacle theme, and the major difference ive noticed between now and the time before is the editing of the rows.

i am no longer able to use the wide parallax class, and it wont let me upload a background image.

how can i fix this?
