Hi Vangor,
Apologies for the delay. If you don’t add a featured image to a post then often social media will pull an image from somewhere else on your site. If you use an SEO plugin such as Yoast you can set a featured image for your posts without them showing on the actual post/page.

Also, using WP Bakery is fine too. There is no problem using a different page builder.

We recommend the default WordPress page builder, Gutenberg.

This fancy effect is fine on desktop but on touch screen tablets/mobile it means the user has to tap twice to get to the portfolio.
I could not replicate this as I’m experiencing one tap and the overlay shows up and redirects me right to the corresponding link/page.

Please could you provide a screen recording to see how it’s going on your end?

Hi Hannah!

It seems that theme Customising is having hard time showing things and applying edits. As you can see in the screenshot, settings from the archive did not apply on search page. But today I tried again and now it is working. So this problem is solved, but it is not the only time that customiser settings are missing.

I was pulling my hair off trying to find Off canvas area widgets and the setting simply didn’t show. Next day it was there. Also same with footer widget areas settings. This has happened at least five sites before. Strange! But now I know, that it was a bug and the settings really apply.

I’am building a woocommerce shop page for a customer and when it comes to the question of using a page builder he wants to have WP Bakery.
I know you are not recommending it but are there bigger problems will come my way if i use it anyway. It is just for a few content pages with a simple layout. Theme is Ascend premium and I normally use the SiteInspire page builder.

Hi Hannah,
Yes, I still have the same problem. The Modal does not work for mobile. My previous reply still applies:

The link was in my original post FLOMAPS.COM

I do not want a link to my subscription page. That is what I replaced with a Modal.
The Modal works just fine on Desktop but does not work on Mobile.

In your reply you said “You can create elements that show up on just mobile sites or just desktop or tablet”…
Does that mean it has to be either or, not both?
Also, where is this setting to show up only on one or the other. I did not see that option/setting anywhere.

Hi Simon,
Thanks for reaching out! That should pull from your Default Title Options in Theme Options. There isn’t a built-in way to set this for each product attribute, though you could do this with css and page id’s. I would be happy to help with that, just provide a link and also link to the image you’re wanting to add.

Upon checking the page, I see custom CSS code align: center for the flip box images – https://share.getcloudapp.com/BluYn7LR. However, the property is invalid. Kindly change the custom CSS code to:

.kt-flip-box-front-inner img {
    margin: 0 auto .5em;
}

Hi,

thank you for the answer.

In the meanwhile I’ve played around with the Theme template files (in the Child Theme which I was already using) and I was able to apply the meta fields to my CP and to load the values and settings in the frontend. I was also able to load the CPT into a new archive page with the portfolio-archive structure but I’m stuck on how to customize the archive page. I think, to have a clean job done, I’ll need to copy and rename a huge amount of templates and functions for which I’m not skilled enough at the moment, so I’ll follow a different strategy. Anyway It was interesting to see how the Theme is built.

In short…..every time I create a custom widget, it either disappears completely, or reappears in a different location. Here is what I have done….multiple times.

1. Theme Options > Misc. Settings > Create Sidebars
2. Widgets> Open Custom Sidebar and insert SiteOrigin Editor and in put information.
3. View on page…it’s not there.
4. Go back to Widgets page and it’s not there. Open all widgets and see that it has migrated to another location.

I have performed this take several times, each time the location changes,and the widget content is shuffles around like playing cards.

Then I performed the obligatory checklist.

1. Checked to make sure I am using current WordPress theme and ASCEND PREMIUM theme. √
2. Checked all plugins. Nothing news. Disabled and reactivated. Nothing changed. √
3. Log out and take a rest, because I’m getting aggrevated. √
4. Sign back in and see that issue still remains. √

And suggestions how to fix this? I working just fine until last night. I tried working on it again today and still can’t resolve.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

As with your other topic, I cannot log in using the username and password you gave.

There is a 2% margin-bottom for page contents’ H1 – H4 set in the ascend stylesheet. Please try this custom CSS code to see if the spaces for your widget titles will all be the same:

.panel-grid-cell .widget-title {
    margin-bottom: 2rem;
}
