Hi Ben!

I tried to find more information/ customizations ideas to use the kadence slider but i didnt find much.

I’m creating a new site/blog and I have inspired myself on the sample virtue-4. I saw that you used revolution slider on that sample, but as i found very difficult i decided to try kadence slider and i thought it is much much easier.

I managed to create the the layout using the page builder (nice tutorial!) but I’m feeling difficulties with some points on the slider.

– i set the slider on home layout (theme options) & for the kadence slider i used fullpage sized images (or i should to set it directly on the page builder instead? *** I tried but them doesnt have the arrow at the bottom of slider option…)

(1) I use a fix topbar. When i press on ”Move Slider above Header”, the topbar disapears. (I am already using page-header: none css code)
When i press on ”Move Slider above Header”, the arrow at the bottom of slider disappears and the image become bigger than the page (i imagine is the amount of the topbar size)
it is some css that i can use to it does not happen?

(2) other idea is to keep the topbar on the bottom. (just to illustrate –> if you have a second, have a look on the site *Login to see link ) is this movement possible using kadence slider?

(3) yet on this example, is there a css where i could use logo & a menu inside the topbar? (but keeping ”search” & social media icons?)

(4) arrows (left and right) to change the sliders – it is possible to hide them?

and my last question is about the cool art-pics that you use on your tutorials. Are those arts yours or are they available to download/ or buy somewhere? That’s very nice!

Thank you very much for your prompt answer.

(1) yep…. had open it using different browsers, and the issue remains… I sent a message to jetpack support checking if i can do somin about but they didnt reply yet.

(2) I changed a bit as follow below and it is working – but has a conditional on it -The code just work if you use the jetpack subscription on the footer. If you using it on the page builder does not work – is there some thing i can do about?

Can you take a look at the following page, *Login to see link , If you look at the bottom of the page where the recent posts are located. You will see that they have different heights. Is there a way that I can make them the same height so it looks better?

Hi Ben,
For the home page, I enabled the “Image Menu” option under Homepage Layout Manager, which gives the primary color as a rollover fade-in effect over my images.
Is there a way to disable this effect?
Or better yet, is there a way to change the effect to either text (above fade-in color) or an image rollover (maybe with just CSS)?

Hey,
1. No the theme wouldn’t do anything with subscriptions, more likely another plugin conflicting. Have you checked for javascript errors in your page.

2. No the theme doesn’t override your css. Do you have a link where your css isn’t working?

Today, I have 2 questions about this topic –

after i made the updates, i noted that the users/ subscribers are not displaying anymore. (i still receiving the messages from the subscriptions in blank and we tested as well, so the plugin is working to subscribe – but when i have a look on the users page shows the number of subscribers but does not display then in list anymore). Could it happened because i have updated the theme?

(2)
Before i used to uses code as i post below. Does virtue ”overcover” jetpack subscription default, like have some block does not letting me customize them?

You would need to use a plugin, there isn’t a built in function for this, which plugins have you tired. What happens when you try them?
Can you post a link to a page were it’s not working?

Widgets in the customizer is new as of the latest wordpress and most of the options for those widgets are not set to turn on in the customizer. Try editing in the widgets page.

As for your wanted customization can you post a link to this? I assume it will require css. Worth noting the button(PB) is not a theme widget.

Hey,

Lets start with the first, if you want the portfolio post to use the cyclone slider and not one of the built in sliders like “image slider” or “carousel slider’ or “image carousel” then yes you have to create the portfolio item and a slider in the cyclone slider area.

If you want a cyclone slider with thumbnails then you need to use the thumbnail template in the cyclone slider settings.

The reason your portfolio page is not showing an image with the “silk-road” post is your have either selected “image” as the project summary and don’t have a featured image set or you have selected “slider” in the project summary but don’t have any images in the portfolio slider metabox area.

Plus – sorry – since I made those changes to that “Silk Road Zing” portfolio page , it now does not appear in the filtered listings in the portfolio grid page:

Instead, there is a strange hidden link to it, which appears if you happen to wave your mouse over a particular area.

Do you know how I can fix this?

But it won’t stretch across the full width of the page, even though in the Page Builder settings, the box for the widget is full-width.

Also, do I have to create a Slider and tell it the images I want each time I want a slider on a page?
So, if I want all the pages for my portfolio items (which are each containing 3-10 pictures) to have a slider which slideshows all of the pictures contained in that portfolio item – should I be creating a new slider for each portfolio? So I have to create a portfolio item AND a slider to go on that page? I can’t just tell the slider I want it to show the images only in that particular portfolio item?
So for example, I created a portfolio item for all my collection called “Silk Road Zing” in which there are say 8 pictures.
Do I also have to create a slider and reupload each of those images as an individual slide? I can’t say to the slider “only silk road zing portfolio items please” !

Hey again, I’m sorry but I have just realised that short codes are not the thing I need. Thing I need is in: Theme Options/Shop Settings/Product Page Settings/Custom Tabs. There are options for activation, order, etc. Can you please point me to the spot where I can add nofollow code to all tabs or to a specific tab? Thanks.

The Logo can be centered with this css:

@media (max-width: 767px)

}

The icons in the slider are done by adding <i class="icon-checkmark"></i> right in the text box.

The icons on the home page can be done using the theme options or with shortcodes like you have. you can set all the colors right in the shortcodes and if you want to select the h4 you can use:

font-size:20px;
}

The one thing I can think of is an empty item would cause this.

The images should auto resize for the portfolio page and different for the post.

Id like to ask two more questions about that home page you have, those three buttons, they have a marvelous shine, how have you done it ? The second question is about text in those icons, I place something like this in my code:

Hi Ben – I’ve checked them all. It’s always the middle ones which seem to bump up about 20px from the second row onwards ? I’m sure it’s me but I don’t know what I’ve done wrong. Each Portolio Item is set as a slider. I am setting 2 or more images on each and they are all 1024px x 1024px. No Featured Image.

On your demo theme you sent me above I see that if I choose to ‘save as’ your images either from the Portfolio Grid or the Portfolio Page they have different sizes. Does the theme change this itself or should i be uploading multiple sizes?

I’ve seen this many sites, probably some official name.
Like a drop text outline.
I’ve tried a couple ways with teh new widgets but maybe there’s a simple way.
